Quick Help regarding Adding players to party

I'm currently following through the Beginners Guide to RPG Maker VX Ace, and I've found I've learned a lot.

However, I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong here. I have an event where, after the main player leaves the house, his neighbor is supposed to tell him to hurry up and join the party. She does join the party, but both the player and her sprite becomes invisible.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here are two images of the event.

You could do what you just did all in one event. 

And the reason they're becoming invisible is because you have that "Transparent: ON" thrown in there, so go ahead and remove that.

Here's how you should set it up:

EVENT PAGE 1

Add new member

"Insert text here"

Turn on Switch: A

EVENT PAGE 2

all blank, with self switch turned on to "A" under conditions.

Thank you for the help! It worked like a charm. I'm not sure why the guide has Transparent (Probably was preparing for a step a chapter or so ahead).
