First, thank you,
@Lilian, for explaining how to create the json! But, I found that the name had to be simply "Parameters.json" to run.
Also, this is a fantastic plugin! But it seems Quasi has vanished? Does anyone know the terms of use?
I was going to post a problem I was having, but I solved it, so instead I thought I'd pass along what I worked out. This is potentially one of the most powerful plugins I've seen, but it is a little confusing, and I'm no expert with evals. So it took me a really long time to figure out how to manipulate the value and actor id of a parameter using variables, even though to more experienced users this might be obvious. If you want to create a damage formula for, say, an item that changes the user's custom parameter by a random value, you can do something like this:
x = a.actorId(); y = Math.randomInt(3) + 3; $gameParty.members()[x].addCParam(0, y); 0
EDIT: I guess it would be double-posting for me to add the problem I've run into, so I'll edit this post. After a ton of work, I got a complicated damage formula to work in a blank game.
However, when I try to run it in my actual game, I get a ton of "DAMAGE FORMULA ERROR" notices in conflict with Yanfly.
I've tried disabling some Yanfly scripts, but keep getting new errors. I know that people had been using this in conjunction with Yanfly, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Are they compatible or can they be?? Please help!
