  1. Set your camera to 45 degrees angled downward towards your model. Turn off perspective mode (which you already did!); the rest is up to your lighting and rendering settings!

Thanks for the reply! I've managed to do just that, and it looks a lot better.
Funny thing is, when I searched for it, I came across one of your old posts on the Daz Studio forums. I never paid much attention to the control cube thing, but clicking the corner of that set my camera exactly to 45 degrees.
As for render settings, did you use an HDRI? I'm trying to achieve some softer shadows and the sun-sky only setting creates too intense shadows, which isn't what I'm looking for.
  3. I do not use HDRI, I do custom lighting setups for my template scenes. I found that if I do HDRI and want shadows on the ground, you end up with wonky shadows (they look good, but not useable really for the purpose of making animated characters and such). If you want to use an HDRI but find the light/shadow too harsh, you can decrease the Environment setting in the render panel.
  4. I'm gonna try with a custom light setup then, and see how it works.
Thanks again for you help. It is really appreciated!
