  1. Project Recruitment Submission Rules
    (Last Update: August 28, 2023)

Threads posted in Project Recruitment Boards will enter a moderation queue and not appear until it is accepted by Archeia. Threads will be accepted or denied based on how well they meet the rules and guidelines. Give at least 3 days before inquiring as to the state of your thread, and address all concerns to Archeia.

When posting in the Project Recruitment Boards, you are expected to read, understand the following rules and meet the minimum requirement to post new thread in this forum.

The Project Recruitment Forum is the meeting point of recruiters and those who want to be recruited. Moreover, you can use this forum for team discussion. Please read and understand the following rules/guidelines before posting on this forum.

    What is this board for?

A general rule of thumb is to never recruit for personal projects. Personal projects are ones which the developer works on alone, where only they get a say on its development. People who are being recruited mostly expect that they will work on a team and they'll be kept informed of the current project status. If you're working on a personal project, however, and need help to acquire resources (such as sprites/battlers/music/etc..), you may use the Resource Request forum for small requests. But if you need an entire game's worth of assets, this is the place to recruit teammates.

If you want to recruit then be ready to work in a team and make sure you have planned ahead for the things you need and where you are going. Before opening a new thread in this forum, please familiarise yourself with these rules:

    Remember:
    • You need at least 1 post to start a topic in Project Recruitment.
    • At the moment, we will only accept foreign games which have been translated into English. This is the Official English Forums, and everyone is required to interact in English. If your game is entirely in Japanese/French/Spanish/German/Russian/Tagalog/etc. it will not be accepted.
    • Posting projects which contain elements of religion, politics and/or sex are allowed, but please provide a disclaimer in the header of your thread. We would like to remind people that this is a PG-13 forum and the general forum rules still apply here. Please refer to this thread for more information. This means we will not approve any threads for R18+ projects.
    • If your Project is PAID work, post in Classifieds - Requests (be sure to read the rules). This board is invisible for new members, and will become available once you've made a reasonable number of quality posts.
    • If you are offering Commissions, post in Classifieds - Offers (be sure to read the rules). This board is invisible for new members, and will become available once you've made a reasonable number of quality posts.
    Tags Guide:
    • Free - You are asking someone to help you for free.
    • Trade - You are asking someone to help you through a trade. Money is not allowed and should be posted in either Classifieds - Requests.
    • Offer - You are offering a service or skill to help people with their projects. Money is not allowed and should be posted in Classifieds - Offers.

Template for Opening a New Thread for Offers
*Before opening a new thread to advertise your skills, make sure you check current recruitment threads. You might come across an already available thread which could make good use of what you have to offer.

    Required

    Samples:
Provide samples or screenshots of your work. Don't open a thread and say that you are good at mapping without showing facts, give examples of your work.

    Things to Note

    • Template. You may improve the look of your topic by using headers for the template. Just please make sure you have at minimum the required elements in your post.
    • Be clear and concise. When creating a recruitment thread, make sure you give a detailed explanation of what you would like from any teammates, and what they should expect from working with you on your project.
    • Skill Trading is encouraged. If you want a better response rate then offer your help in your recruitment thread! For example, you might be good at scripting but you need a spriter, the best thing you could do is to offer your scripting service in exchange for the spriter's time.
    • NO ROYALTY PAYMENTS OR ANY FORM OF CASH PAYMENTS. This board is EXCLUSIVELY FREE/SKILL TRADE only. This is for the safety of our members, and to avoid disputes between parties. Members with enough high-quality posts can use the Classifieds section for Paid work (but note that offering royalties as the only form of payment is not acceptable).
    • Team Discussions. If you have a team and want to discuss your project then you can do it here. Use this forum as a meeting point for all the members of your team. Again, don't spam and don't bump your thread without good reason.
    • Spamming will not be tolerated (as always) and wait for 72 hours before bumping your thread. The above is also the minimum required timeframe to wait before opening a new thread, and you are encouraged to wait as long as possible past the minimum requirement. Any thread which does not meet the requirement will be closed. Closed threads will be reopened only if the Topic Creator decides to update the thread and meet the requirements. Contact Archeia or report your thread to be reopened. Remember to read our General Rules before posting.
    * Exceptions to this rule will be accepted on a per thread basis. Contact Archeia for any other inquiries.

AI Usage In Projects (Update added July 31st, 2024)
    • You may submit game projects that use or plan to use AI to the recruitment section, but you must disclose in your opening post what AI elements have been or will be utilized. Failure to do so will result in your game thread being removed and warnings applied to your account.
    • As a reminder, debating AI usage is presently on moratorium. If you don't like the fact that a game uses AI, please scroll on to the next project. If you suspect a game thread has been untruthful in its disclosures, please submit a detailed report via the forum report function.
  2. Updates the Rules since a lot of people seem to try to bypass the nature of this board.

NO ROYALTY PAYMENTS OR ANY FORM OF CASH PAYMENTS. This board is EXCLUSIVELY FREE/SKILL TRADE only. This is for the safety of our members and avoiding disputes between two parties. If you wish to really go with this, then do it outside our forum and discuss professionally on email with a contract to avoid all possible issues. Thank you.
  3. Updated to clarify what the tags mean and tightened the rules.
