  1. Hi, I'm making my game credits, how should I put that I'm the "creator" of the game?

    "Programmed by"
    "Made by"
    "Developed by"
    Etc, etc.

I'm not a programmer since I'm making this with RPG Maker so I don't know, what's the approach here?

  2. Created by <your name> using <software name>
  3. Developed by *You*
    Engine by *Engine Creators*
  4. Here's another 'alternative'.
    Created by <you>
    Powered by <engine name>
  5. I'm just putting "Written and directed by..." and leaving it at that, since I'm pretty much the only one working on it.
  6. I put "Written, directed and developed by:" :c
  7. This doesn't really have anything to do with commercial game making, as free games have credits too.

I've moved this thread to General Discussion. Thank you.

  8. All the replies give good options. One thing has been overlooked, however.
I do not think "Programmed by..." should be used, as unless you write all your own plugins/scripts and (in MV) essentially re-write the engine itself, you have not programmed it.
  9. To be honest no game ever says it was 'programmed' by anyone. i.e. even Triple A games are 'developed' by the company (Capcom, EA, etc.). This is because programming is only one part of game design, visuals are not programmed, story and text is not programmed, even eventing technically isn't programming.

Just because you didn't make the engine does not mean you aren't the game's 'creator'.
  10. Eh...

    I use:

    A [Pseudo Company Name] Production.
[Game Name] by [My Real Name] aka [My Internet Handle]

At some point, I also list the Official DLC for the Maker that I'm using as well as list RPGMaker and Kadokawa and list a URL to bring them to the website if they're interested in the software. I also list which engine I'm using.
