Profit Motive: Fanart Contest #2: With Prizes! [Submissions Closed!]

To promote the launch of Profit Motive Version 4.0 we're holding a another Fan Art Contest! Details are below:

PRIZES

[[1st Place]]: $300 USD Cash + Opportunity to design your own avatar to go into the game as a special NPC + Have your name appear in the final credits roll of the game.

[[2nd Place]]: $150 USD Cash + Opportunity to have an existing character in the game named after you + Have your name appear in the final credits roll of the game.

[[3rd Place]]: $50 USD + Have your name appear in the final credits roll of the game.

How to Enter

------------------

1.) Send an e-mail to sage@profitmotivegame.com with the heading "PM FAN ART ENTRY" and an attached, original piece of fanart based off any of the scenes or characters from the game "Profit Motive". If you haven't played it yet, that's ok, you can download and play the latest version of the game here for free: Profit Motive RPG Maker Thread

2.) We will post all considered submissions on our Twitter Feed as they come in and ask for readers vote on them with replys and comment with feedback:

3.) Finally, the Profit Motive Staff will review all the submissions and reader feedback on September 28th, 2012 and post a final decision on the winners by October 1st, 2012. Winners will be contacted via e-mail if they have qualified for a prize.

The Deadline for submission is SEPTEMBER 28th, 2012. Judges from the Profit Motive Staff will choose from all submissions and the winner result will be posted by October 1st, 2012 on the Profit Motive Twitter Stream (https://twitter.com/...!/Profit_Motive)

[[Number of Entries]]

You can submit as many different entries as you'd like, however each person can only win one of the 3 prizes.

[[Prize Payment]]

The Prize Payment will be sent to the winners via Paypal, so only apply if you have a valid Paypal account.

[[All Rights Reserved]]

Only submit fanart if you are OK with it being used as promotional material in and out of the game (For instance if we want to post your work as an example for future fan art competitions)

especially since this is easily one of the best rm games out there. ever.

We do not allow member-run contests. However, we are willing to make an exception in your case.

In the future, please contact a moderator before you consider making threads of this type. I'd hate to have to close a thread someone spent a lot of time creating because it's against forum rules. But we have to be fair to other members as well - especially those whose personal contest threads were (or will be) closed. :)

@Luna: I realize i am new and my opinion holds no value the almighty and everlastingly gracious moderators and admins of this forums, (and believe it or not, i was not being sarcastic there) but what is the point of stifling community creativity by banning member-run contests? I assume there is a perfectly valid reason, I'm just curious as i am new here and do not know what the reason is.

The issue with member-run contests is that we have no control over their quality, how fairly they're run or how many we would get in any given period of time. A person could run a contest and disappear before the winners are announced, leaving the participants with wasted time. Or we could end up with 10 contests running at the same time, with participants spread out so much that all 10 contests fail from lack of participation.

So, it's much simpler for us to not allow user-run contests. However, we do acknowledge that people can have awesome ideas or amazing concepts. We're not completely closed to the idea of having one or two exceptions for members who will follow through on their contest obligations. But to do so, we need to coordinate and prepare. This is why I ask that a moderator be contacted prior to making a thread. We can discuss it and be aware of what's going on before the contest begins. :)

As long as it features the characters from the game and is appropriate for general viewing, then yeah :)

Awesome. That'd be great. BTW, you may want to download the latest version with a bug fix, which was uploaded today:

You should be able to just copy over your save data with no problem if you've already started playing.

Nope. It just ensures that you won't run into a certain bug. You should just be able to copy your save game over with no other change needed.
