Problem with battlers' positioning using Yanfly's Row Formation plugin

  1. Hi everybody.

I get the same problem Sauteed_Onion reports here https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/yanfly-row-formation-positioning-help.95774/, but it is not created for the same reason (ie I don't add any new character to the party during combat).

I'm using Yanfly's Row Formation plugin http://yanfly.moe/2016/01/02/yep-54-row-formation/, with two rows, with the default game resolution.

By default, two of my actors are on row 1, and the two others on row 2. Everything is fine in this situation, as well as when all four actors are on the same row, or when three of them are on row 2 and only one on row 1. The problem occurs when three actors are on row 1 and one on row 2; then, the actor on row 2 is right in the back of one of the other actors and comes into him/her when advancing to choose an action for the turn. I put a set on screenshots to illustrate all this under the spoiler tab:

I tried playing with the plugin's setting, but to no avail; I can't understand what each setting really stands for, so I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do. What can I do to fix this? Thanks!
  2. Bump.
  3. Bump.
  4. In the plugin parameters, you can set the X:Y coordinates of each row. Perhaps you can Push row 2 back slightly on the X Axis and pull Row 1 forward slightly.

If you post a screenshot of your plugin parameters and show the full formula for Row X and Row Y positions, I may be able to help more.
  5. @boikish Tank you very much. As said in another answer to you, I'm sick right now. I'll check into this as soon as I get better and will post a screenshot if I can't make this work.
  6. Hi there @boikish .

I tried to play with the settings and tried different things, but most of the time, it didn't have any effect on the outcome. There's obviously something I don't get here, 'cause all those numbers must be there for some reason... Here is a screenshot of my settings. Unfortunately, the window size isn't adjustable and there is no horizontal slider bar, so most of the formulas are cut. I opened the Row 2 home x formula, which is the same for row 1, for you to see.

Sorry for the late answer and thanks again.
  7. I think that the first number in your Row 2 Home X formula (112) affects the overall position of that row, while the second number (64) affects the position of the individual battlers (so they’re neatly fanned out instead of perfectly lined up vertically). I’ve got by with just experimenting by increasing or decreasing those values by 50%, jumping into battle test and seeing the results.
