Problem placing tiles to create depth effect to a river

  1. Hi,

I just started learning RPG Maker VX Ace with the tutorials at http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/support/products/tutorials and ran into a (minor) trouble with placing tiles.

Picture tells more than 1000 words:

    Spoiler
So I'm trying to create a depth effect to the river as instructed in the tutorial but can only get something similar with the method at lower right of the picture. The underwater "cliffs" in the tutorial's example look longer and seem to take the size of exactly one tile, whereas in my map they look small and take about 3/4 of a tile.

This is not a huge problem but it would be nice to know that I can get different looking underwater "cliffs" and to know how I can use the tiles differently for different situations.

Thanks in advance for any advice I might get.
  2. You are over Thinking/Over doing the process.

Step 1 Draw a River/Lake using the Tile I highlighted in Red

Step 2 Using the tile I highlighted in red just click the bellow "north" edges of the water

    NO SHIFT CLICKING REQUIRED!
  3. Wow, that was simple in the end. It's not quite clear to me at this point how the tiles behave and how to use them.

    Thank you very much :)
  4. No problem, happy mapping
