Depends on who makes them, the style, the quality, and whether you order in bulk or not. I've had quotes from $25 - $110 per faceset with 8 expression.

I would look through the Classifieds and see what artists are offering for them.

other websites have artists who will do work for MUUCCCHHHH cheaper. Like, $8 for a complete faceset and such. For some reason the artists here overcharge, and the programmers are expected to undercharge... madness! :p

@?????? no, while it is true that a lot of people here underestimate the programming work and set those budgets too low, the artists aren't overcharging - it's the other artists you mentioned who are also undercharging themselves.
Quality always has its price, no matter where or what. -
Right. Keep in mind $8 for a full faceset with expressions would be 1.1 hours of work where I live, if they are charging minimum wage. Plus, I've seen what most of those $8 facesets look like and I wouldn't want them in my game.

Yea thats fair. You get what you pay for at the end of the day. But there are always cheaper options available :)

Well, and sometimes for artists in certain countries, $8 goes much further than it does in others. So while I don't think that some artists are charging too much, I don't necessarily think others are undercharging either. Most often, it's about location and the economics there.

The above post pretty much state how it is for the cost of art, it varies based on countries, hiring artists in US it might be more expensive than in Asia based on the living conditions of the location and $ conversion rate from one country to another.
