    1. Curious about your score? We are in the process of refining comments for the games and will be offering scores to participants starting this weekend. All you have to do is e-mail info@rpgmakerweb.com and we’ll get back to you with your score(s) ASAP, starting Sunday.
When you get yours, post here!

It's very valuable information, especially if your project didn't rate well -- this gives us all a notion of what to do better for the next time.

I suggest the following format to keep the thread easy to read:

(Game name): (Link to the game page)
(Did it pass the screening?) (Final scores and comments)

I'll post mine as soon as they reply to my e-mail.
This way we can have a better understanding of how the judging happened, and this information will also be useful to participants of future editions of the contest.

    Regards.
  2. I haven't got mine yet (even though I emailed as soon as they said the results lol) but I'll post it here once I have them.
  3. Yea. Still waiting on mine. I think they once again are late. Which would be fine if there was any level of pr control here. I'd expect results in 3 months. Again.
  4. Seriously, catch? They said STARTING on. They probably have hundreds of emails to go through and sort out scores on. Be patient. It's barely been 2 days.

the 3 months was an exaggeration. But I don't expect anything for atleast a week.
  6. Yes, and at least a week is perfectly reasonable to expect people with real lives to sort through hundreds of emails and reply to them with the correct information.
  7. Annnd the award for MOST IMPATIENT PERSON EVER goes toooo... catch! >)

Yeah, this contest was a first of its kind HERE. Of course there will be messy hiccups. It happens. *shrug*

Waiting on mine.  Good, bad, or ugly. I want to know.

While I'm not involved with the post-contest process, I know there's a lot more involved than you seem to grasp.

Good, that seems a little more reasonable of you. Do you want any useful information? Or do you want a 3 second generic canned response?

This is a process with more to it than you know.
  9. Hey guys, We are working on this today.

My personal notes may take a little time. When I was scoring, I did scores only, and a few personal notes just so I could remember which game was which. I did not write full reviews. There were just SO MANY games to play.

I fully intend to write a Good, Bad, Indifferent list for any person that asks for feedback, but I will do it when I'm asked. The reason for this is to save time, but this also means that it may take a short amount of time between me getting requests and me being able to respond.

I'll be able to send out my personal scores faster than that if people want them.

Note: I did Non-RPG. If your game was RPG, this post doesn't apply to you, other than the we are working on it today thing, we are working on everyone's today.
  10. So here comes briefly the feedback I got.

This is shared, as it says on the thread title, for educational purposes only.

I also say in advance that I am happy with the feedback and the result.

My participation was a tutorial game on RPG Maker VX Ace.

    Risky I know...  :p

Game name:  Events  You can find it by CLICKING HERE

    SCREENING: PASS

    Final scores and comments:

Press SPOILER to see a briefly feedback sum:

    Spoiler
They found it solid as a tutorial,

    but

it needed more work as a game.

First off, thank you for the "solid as a tutorial" part.

It means a lot reading such a thing from the mouths of the devs.

    Now about the negative part.

I can not agree more! BD   :thumbsup-right:

    They are absolutely right!

This tutorial was made for the community.

I wanted to make it before the contest.

    But I never started it.

The contest gave me just a feeling of a goal to achieve and a time limit.

So I started and finished making it. And I am more than satisfied!  :guffaw:

To be honest, I did not focused on making a game but a tutorial.

I admit it, it was a mistake indeed, since it was more a tutorial than a game.

The contest was not about making tutorials though.

    It was about making games.

    Fair enough.  ;)

It was a very nice experience and my first contest participation ever.

And I am glad I read right judgement reviews on the winners (congratulations once again to them)

including giving me some RIGHT and correct feedback on my participation.

They know what they were doing in my opinion.

Can't wait for the next one!

I will participate with a real game next time.  B)   :thumbsup-right:

    Cheers.
  11. I got my scores! My game is Recurrence, which you can download on my site: http://crackedrabbitgaming.com/recurrence-igmc/

It was in the Non-RPG category. Here's the email:

Thanks for reaching out! Sorry for our delay. The game Recurrence scored quite highly for both judges (15 Presentation, 15 Gameplay, 17 Fun Factor from one judge; 13, 15, 13 from the other). The game did place in the top 20 for one judge and the top 30 for the other judge. Thanks for your participation and best of luck in the future!
So that's pretty good news: top 20/top 30, out of 800 entries! Of course I've made improvements since the contest version, so I'll always wonder how it would have scored with the added music and tweaks. :\
  12. I got my feedback but felt very disappointed that it apparently didn't even make the scoring round. :-(

But other people should be getting their feedback soon.
  13. Beyond Reality: RPG

12/60, 43/60 from judges (woop, though not sure what areas were high/low, but I can guess!)

Presentation was liked, battles too basic. Difficult to get into. Scope/ambition had potential. Didn't like characterisation and pacing.

    I agree!!!

Coming soon: Beyond Reality: Extended Edition ;D

Oh no! Any idea why? That should only have happened if there was a game-breaking bug right in the beginning, or it was copyright infringement, etc.
  15. The majority of games didn't pass, actually. I'd be very surprised if mine made the cut, but that would've been so absurd I didn't even bother sending an email ><
  16. I'm with you on that Tungerman. Mine was my first ever game since Unlimited Adventures (which I made a game with back in 1996, to give you an idea how long ago that was), so I figured unless by some miracle it won (or placed) I wasn't going to worry too much about it. Also, I managed to get some feedback from forum posters that once I implemented it I had changed the game so much from the contest entry that it made most feedback based on the entry near meaningless anyways.
  17. Thank you for posting your scores.

I haven't received mine yet, I'm sure it's on the queue.

I didn't know that.  I assumed games would pass to the judging round if they met TommyGun's conditions --- no game-breaking bugs or copyright infringement --- and I know it had some minor bugs but no game breaking ones.  I never expected to place or win anything, either, since it was my first game ever.  And I had a whole, let's see, 4 months using RPG Maker at the time...

I was fortunate to have a friendly playtester give me a lot of very helpful feedback which will dramatically improve any of my games in the future.
  19. Thanks for your patience, everyone. More scores coming out today :)
  20. Still waiting on my scores but just received my coupon for those who are curious.
