I have downloaded pretty much all of Yanfly and SRD plugins and various very useful ones as well.....but....I'm not going to be using them all....maybe...not sure...
So do I just load them into the plugin manager and set them to OFF or just add the ones I'm going to use for now and activate them?
Plugins madness ;)

Do as you wish.

Remember: "just because you can doesn't mean you must."
Think about your game, what it needs and what it doesn't.
You don't *have* to include every plugin you can find, unless you want to make a mess of a game no one will play. -
In my starting point tutorial I wrote something about this:
"A titanic list of features is the best way to go Titanic (to the bottom of the ocean) with your project".
You should only add those plugins that you need or are reasonable certain you will need at one point.
Because a long list of plugins that are turned off will only confuse people when you get to the bughunting part, and there are a lot of incompatibilities between plugins - trying to get every combination to work if you don't need a certain feature is a waste of time.
Quite on the contrary you don't need any plugin, and I strongly suggest that you try to make your learning project (the one to scrap after you learned your way around the engine after two or three months of tutorials) completely without any plugin, because that will tell you what the engine can do on itself.
