  1. just needed to make a quick rant post about "testing" out your game after changes.

I'm STILL working on my cut scene - ran into a snag that I can't figure out how to get something to work - so every new thing I try, I have to sit through 3 minutes of "cut scene" just to find out whether the change worked or not.

gggggggggggggggoooodddddddddddddddddddddddd I'm already hating my cut scene because I've watched it like 30 times :D
  2. You can set a label and put in Jump to Label so you don't have to sit through it all. don't forget to take it out when you fix the scene, though, lol

That's assuming she doesn't need those three minutes to set up whatever situation is causing her grief...

I just went through hours of building to get a simple title screen + map to load on my wife's phone (guess what? emulators don't catch everything).
  4. I hear you there. If it makes you feel better, I once spent an entire day writing and testing...one...stinking...cutscene. Was 2 minutes long once I was done with it.

I feel so stupid for not thinking of this before

    *facepalm*
  6. (Fondly remembers creating one very complex cut-scene that took days, and all kinds of debugging...   tons of testplay, and a seemingly infinite amount of failures.)

    1)  It is okay to scream and shout at RPG Maker...   it won't fix the problem, but it might make you feel better for the moment, and thus able to continue debugging.

    2)  Walk away from RPG Maker from time to time.  Very often I have been away from the engine when a light-bulb would come on and a very simple answer to a complex problem would suddenly become clear.

    3) The end result is worth it.  So if you have to watch the same scene 320 times, suffer through anger, tears, despair, and thoughts of destroying the universe...  just know it will all be worth it in the end.

    :)
