Thanks ... Is there a way to view the submitted sprite templates double-size ? That's about how they will appear in full-screen graphics if they are used in Testplay mode. I have a large monitor, but it's still a bit hard to see.

Well yeah the people that submit the entries could probably up-scale them...

but you can do something similar yourself with "CTRL" & "+" (or "mouse wheel up" that zooms in), CTRL & "-" (or "mouse wheel down" that zooms out), CTRL & "0" (original).

I've only tested that method with Firefox and Internet Explorer.

If on a PC, most browsers support zoom. Ctrl + and - and if you're on a mac, apple +-

Unfortunately, zooming in on a browser does mean distorting pixels around, and for pixel art, that's kind of important.


Every entry when the contest starts for real should definitely have a magnified option to go along with it, so that we can see the details.

It was in the previous Pixel Madness, not quite sure why it wasn't done again this time. But at least these are just preliminaries.

Also - aren't the sources supposed to be listed ? I already rated one 5-stars for excellence, but I thought that listing sources (originals) was part of the contest ?

Some of them have their sources listed, meaning the sprites are frankens. Those that don't, are completely original.

Haha, some of the votes the entries are getting are literally baffling. But no big deal. Just funny.

I quite like most of the entries. In general, I think most of them will be used at some point or another in a project.

WOW...... ok, so it turns out that half the entries in the contest werent even Franken sprites.....yet everyone whined so hard as if things were just so unfair and the frakens were getting supper high votes....Causing all that drama for pretty much nothing.

Well just glad to see the contest back up again.

And the one sprite that is mostly franken parts, looks super kickass.


@1-voters: there's always going to be the odd one out that wants to vote 1 just because.

Sorry - I planned to vote on all of them, just got dragged away by the computer from Chris - I'm back now so I'll go to examine and vote for the rest of them ... OK, I got 'em. And no, I made only one 2 vote, the rest were 3 or higher.

Also, just cause you vote 5 on one doesn't necessarily mean that person will automatically win. As Red-Green says, "We're all in this together."
