I having been working on a PS3 remake for some time now. The time has come to input damage formula and sort out the combat.
Any idea of what sort of formula I can use or what formula the original game uses. I want to try and keep as close to the original damage and stats as possible. I've asked a few questions before on here but not had much luck. Any of those with knowledge of the game be able to help me?
I'm looking for calculations for heroes hitting monsters and the monsters hitting heroes. I can work out magic/techniques later on! I'd even be happy to make a donation or pay someone over paypal. This is a long term project I've been working so so hard on. Maths isn't my strongest skill!!!

I'm very good with math, formula's and all. Sound's like you have a couple of options here as I have taken a similar rode to develop a game. What you're going to have to do is study the game mechanics you are trying to replicate. Try looking up an article online that has strong details about the game mechanics where you can determine the formula for you're game. And of coarse secondly, a lot of trial and error is going to take place because you're going to need to play the game you're trying to replicate and take notes.

I've played the game through hundreds of times since the 90s! The combat system is pretty weak which gives me a lot of freedom to improve things really. I'm thinking I may just need to calculate what level the party will be roughly entering each world and just buff up the maths a little for each area. I posted incase anyone else who had tried to remake this game or was a massive fan had any ideas.
My game and maps are roughly the game size and I'm using pretty much the original stats just with updated graphics.
