How to put it. Parallax mapping is pretty much mapping outside the map editor to allow people to have creative freedom and more options in their mapping. You would need to plug a script in to add the functionality out there. There are alot of good tutorials on how to do it ^^.
This would be an example of it.

The name "parallax mapping" results from using the parallax picture of a map to display a picture of the planned map instead of creating the map in the editor. That parallax picture would be made in an image program like GIMP or Photoshop, allowing you to place the map-structures outside the grid that is enforced by the editor.
Because the parallax picture does not move synchronised to the map by default, you'll need a parallax lock script to make sure that the picture scrolls with the same speed as the player.
Parallax mapping is a lot more work than regular mapping (you not only need to make the map in the image program, you still need to add passability to the map after the picture is imported), but the resulting maps are usually a lot better and nicer to play on than the regular maps. -
Ok, I understand, Thank you :)
