Good evening everyone,,
so here I go finally diving into parallax mapping, It is difficult I will not lie but oh my gosh is it so fun and soo much freedom, Ive spent 15minutes playing around with Gimp trying to get use to using a program (although I will most likely use Photoshop when I get basics down) However Ive watch videos, read some tutorials but although they teach me, I was wondering if I can get tips from others, and maybe some really good tutorials you liked that helped you when you first started. My main issue right now is getting my houses to align up to the grid cause I remember reading something somewhere that if it doesnt the player head can go through the houses etc. Once again any input in this matter would be absorbed into my tiny tiny brain :3 Thanks for your time.
P.S (Sorry mods if this isnt in the right category!, I have a hard time determining where to put Mapping questions at :S)

My advice to you would be the following :
- Create a map that adheres to 32 x 32 increments.
- Turn on your grid and set it to be 32 x 32. This will help you determine the placement of the tiles, so that it will adhere to the map editor standards and default collision.
A tutorial I found useful is in the following link :

If you're using Gimp, you should turn on the grid when you're aligning things. Image > Configure Grid, set to 32x32 and some really obnoxious color like bright pink, then View > Show Grid.
When I started parallax mapping, I only really used one tutorial:
It was recorded with VX, but the process is more or less the same with Ace. It covers pretty much everything you need to know to get started. For more advanced stuff, like animated water, you can search the forum, there's been plenty of good tutorials written over time.
