...I tried to create a game with rpgmaker XP. How naive I was! Believing I could create a game all alone, only by myself, knowing absolutely nothing about how to use rpgmaker. I ended up quitting, of course. Nowadays, this fellow only enjoys playing rpg games, not making them. That's how it was meant to be.
However, I feel like helping other people create their own games. I think that would be an amazing experience. But, this time, I'm helping with things I actually know about. Like writing, or drawing!
I'm happy if I can be somehow useful :D
"So, please take care of me!" *bows* (Too much anime...Too much...)
Now, I may say something like that in real life. It would be funny to see people's reactions. I bet they wouldn't know what to do.
*keeps bowing* (until you say something)
Once upon a time, not so long ago...

You're funny ;) Welcome to the community. Don't give up! There are loads of tutorials and people to help out if you get stuck.
Or plenty of projects if you need to join one :) -
Welcome to the community !
Like Alkorri said, there are TONS of tutorials to help you start RPG Makin'. -
Hey there, pleased to meet you.
That is very noble of you to offer your services to others even if you don't intend to create your own game. The good thing about that is through working with others you pick up new skills, so if you ever decide to create your own game again you will be better equipped this time, and have friends you have helped to help you.
If I could make a suggestion. If you are a artist, you should take part in the Weekly Art Challenge to show off your skills. Also have you got a link to any of your works? -
hey thanks! Nice to meet you, Cadh!Welcome to the group! :p
Oh, well, thank you. I'm flattered [insert weird face here]. Nice to meet you, Alkorri! You're funny ;) Welcome to the community. Don't give up! There are loads of tutorials and people to help out if you get stuck.

I think there's no hope for me, though. I tried everything. Has anyone noticed that those tutorials are written in some unknown language? I can't seriously be the only one...Am I?
Anyways, as I couldn't decipher them, I ran to youtube, where I found some very nice guy trying to help people like me. I tried learning to script, as well. Never understood what Ruby blabla was. Neither the difference between making events and writing the script. I'm telling you, it was pure gibberish! I learned to do some stuff, like missions. The scenes I tried to create were a fiasco. And then, I needed to map, to draw the sprites...Overwhelming. It was all so overwhelming.
And that's how my sad story went...
I would love to join some project, though! -
Hahaha, I understand what you mean by the tutorials written in another language! Lord knows it sometimes feels that way.
I see that you use RMXP? -
Welcome aboard!
It's indeed overwhelming ;_; you'll find that you're better in some areas than others and you should focus on that and work with a team for a better outcome but manage it can be quite a challenge too :p Not easy, not easy.
But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day!

I know, I read some of them...It's nice to know they're there, though! If some day I'm willing to restart the nightmare, I'll make sure to read them through first.
The pleasure is mine, Dan! (can I call you that...?)Hey there, pleased to meet you.

I hope that I can learn something of my experiences. It would be very nice! (as I never fulfilled "the dream"...)
The Weekly Art Challenge? Oh, I might do so. It sounds interesting.
I have a gallery in DA but...I'm not very proud of it. I know I have so much to learn! Geez, I wish I could draw anything. Someday, I'll do it.

You're right, he! If I was "good" at something, it may have been mapping...At least that's what I found to be the easiest part. Anytime I read the word "script" I wanted to rip my head of my shoulders. Making events was...huh...confusing.
It was challenging, indeed!
Haha it does! Yes, that's right. I don't know, I find RMXP to be my favorite. I haven't tried RMVX ace but there's something about the design (the sprites!) that I don't like. So, it's RMXP for me.Hahaha, I understand what you mean by the tutorials written in another language! Lord knows it sometimes feels that way.

Well, this is not the place for it but you can also use XP sprites in Ace :) Grandma Deb has a list of Ace tutorials if you're interested.Haha it does! Yes, that's right.
