  1. Hi

I just got RPG Maker and the best experience ive had with any program like this is Advance Map. Ive got basics down (placing objects, filling spaces with tiles, etc.). I want to try and make a horor game, but set in a more modern place, and all included sprites are from medieval times. I was wondering if i had to download some sort of resource pack to get different sprites and, if possible, can i make my own with pixel art?
  2. Well, there is no "modern" tiles by default so yes you would need to download (or maybe even buy) some packs... and yes you can make your own with pixel art though if you want it to be of the same style as the RTP, you need to it painted style probably
  3. Before you go buying anything, however, search for Granny's Lists.  She has compiled a vast library of links to existing free resources, including modern tiles, horror etc.  The only thing to check with anything you link to is what the terms are for each artist.  Some do not allow their work to be used in a commercial game.

    EDIT

Here is the link to the general listing of what is on this site.

However, there are many more resources available than that, so just scroll down to the bottom of her post and in her signature you will see a link to modern resources.

As a general rule, Granny's Lists are always a good place to start when looking for graphic resources.
