  1. hello all I have recently tried parallax mapping and when it comes to forests I find myself having no complaints

However I find myself at a loss trying to recreate other stuff such as buildings or rivers even mountains

does anyone have a few pointers to help me I run gimp but I do struggle with copying certain things as tools and patterns.

I would really find any article on parallaxing rather useful I have looked on google and watched a few youtube vids but they lack sound and do not really cover what would happen if what they did does not work, for example having trouble with patterns and brushes.

I have attached some files to show you what level I am at with Parralaxing in hopes that may help with what information i am given.

    Bad mistake
For small communities and especially when the search word have a different interpretation than the regular world-wide use (like parallax, which is usually something very different from parallax mapping), google usually swamps you with wrong results.

You'll get better results searching in this forum only than searching on google, especially as there are several parallax mapping tutorials linked in this forum...
  3. I'm having the same issue with Parallax mapping. I've recently started using this method, and made some great looking forest maps (Well, great to me).
But when it comes to creating a village or a cave (in my case), I struggle to get things looking right.

I too would appreciate some advice on this matter, I'd like to make Parallax mapping my primary style, but can't do so without first being capable of creating a wide variety of scenes and objects.
