  1. So I got CS6 and am trying to do parallax maping. But I can't seem to get the images from one to move to the other.

Can someone tell me how to do that??

Like I select the picture I want with the square marquee tool and try to drag but nothing happens. I can only do it with copy paste and then I can't move it around once on the map.

  2. you need to enable and use the layers for that, if you paste into the background you won't be able to move any part.

But I can't give more help - I'm using CS2 which looks entirely different...
  3. maybe the layer was locked ?

    or

change the image-mode from indexed color to RGB color

    i use cs 3
  4. You need to select the tool "Move" which is the top one on the toolbar, right next to that square marquee tool.
  5. I use CS5. The copying and pasting from one image to another is the only way to get your map components onto your map, but I'm assuming after you select something, you didn't switch to the Move Tool to drag it. It should be above the selection tool.

  6. Yeah that's the trick, i hate that I cant erase things after I move them.

Can someone recognize what software this guy is using and i'll just use that.
  7. They use CS5, and CS6 is essentially a better version of CS5. If you moved an item and wanted to edit it, just select a different tool or layer to get out of the Move Tool.
  8. it looks a lot like one of the older versions of Photoshop, but it's hard to say which one.
  9. Sai I don't understand what you mean, if you're referring to the erase thing then it's like when I first move the art tile I can move it around the map erase it and so on but after I move another one on the map the previous one can be interacted with anymore.

Yeah it look like an old version I've been looking at images trying to compare but can't seem to find one that matches.

Never mind I had to just choose the different layer. Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to do the overlay using cs6? Or does anyone know of any tutorial that also know which CS is being used so that I may apply what is being shown in the tutorial to the software I am using.
  10. Anyway, for the second time, it's CS5. I have that version, so I can vouch for it personally. The tools should be no more different than from CS6, honestly.
  11. I've moved this thread to Program and Utility Discussion. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.
