Need character to stop

Hi, I'm a beginner I've got some problems when I make my own game. I want to make a character approach me when I step into the map. That character did approach me. But then she didn't stop and ran around me like a mad man. Somebody help, please! And thank you!

You probably have the event set to action button, so it will keep running around until you click on them. Try setting them to event touch, that way they will do whatever you want them to do when they interact with the player.
