  1. Hi people,

Just want some feedback on an altered tileset of the orginal rpg maker vx ace tileset using photoshop. I wanted to give this old look like a coloring book but I don't know if its works alright. Just want your opinion and feeling towards it. I'm like 50% sure about it, so please let me know what you think...

  2. Reminds me of Skyward Sword.
  3. Looks painted more than like crayons. I like it to be honest...I actually use this type of filter often to make photos look like paintings.
  4. will the sprites/faces be in the same style? it's absolutely gorgeous, and would be a fun style to see in a full game, but already the water and the fences look out of place, because they don't quite match the style. I really like it, though. you should definitely consider using it.
  5. I have to do the rest of the tiles and sprites but need to know if it will work. I'm having lots of questions if it will look good specially for a puzzle game. But I will try making the sprites like that!... They will probably look weird but I'll try then
  6. I just noticed that you have sprites in your screenshots, but they're black and white? that's an interesting style; do you have any screenshots of what they look like on the maps in-game?
  7. Well, they are basically turned into stone because of the story in the game. It's not that hard to do in photoshop. Just desaturate and maybe add some color of the stone of your choice (like light yellow), then add some grainy effect... just be sure to use layers so that you can easily change the opacity to get the desired results...
  8. we have a resource WIP thread for this

but yeah there's not much to comment on. you threw a photoshop filter over the rtp tiles. i guess it's SOMETHING but it's not particularly interesting in one way or another.
  9. Yeah, the hard part is not applying the filter but aligning and retouching the end result so that the tiles match one another. The reason I'm posting is because I need some feedback, thoughts or comments before embarking on a tedious adventure of filtering the whole tile set. =)

I just want my game to look a little different because I'm no tile artist. So maybe this will hopefully do that...
  10. Post in the Resource WIP thread for feedback. The resource forums are posting for resources other people can use only.
