    Hey everybody,

I've been lurking around the community for a little while now, but other than a few edits here and there, I have yet to make any real contribution of my own. I've always had a passion for art, but never really tried my hand digitally until I came here. I have been so overwhelmed by the generosity and good nature of this community, and there are so many amazing artists present that I've come to emulate and admire for their talent. @Avery, @PandaMaru, @GrandmaDeb,and @Celianna, just to name a few. I've been learning so much about this new art form, and I'm excited to finally release something that I'm relatively happy with. I know it needs some tweaking, and any advice is ALWAYS welcome, but here is my first contribution to this community: an MV Ship Tileset.

I noticed that Avery recently released her own ship, which is amazing, by the way! After that, I had honestly considered letting this project go. I realized, however, that months of work would be wasted. You see, while I've just acquired my first tablet, I haven't quite figured out the settings yet, and so ALL of this has been painstakingly completed with a mouse and a zoom feature. -_-

Anyway, I've yacked long enough. Here are the terms of use:

Non-Commercial: Yes, always. Take this and do with it as you will. Edit it, make it better, make it worse! As long as it is all in good fun, have a blast.

Commercial: A commercial licence is available for those who decide this is something they would like to feature in their commercial project. I wouldn't charge, but the amount of time I've put into this is borderline nutty. A guy has to eat, right? Please contact me if you would like to discuss. This is necessary for any alterations made to the original set, as well, when being used commercially.

Credit: Please credit Gabrelik wherever it might be necessary, and please do not repost without linking back to this thread. While made with RPG Maker MV in mind, this tileset is completely original material and uses none of the RTP. It can therefore be used anywhere without having to own a particular Maker license.

Regarding the tiles: I was able to make this screenshot without any use of parallax mapping and set everything up on my "D" sheet. The only issues I had with this were some passability problems near the bow with the slanted railing, and I had to add the single deck and hull tiles into my "A" sheet. Everything worked out really well, so it should be fine either way. Also, I've set these up to be diverse, so you aren't limited to just the size I've shown below. Your ship can be as big as you like!

Now, I know there a lot of blanks and this is only one sheet. While I hope to eventually expand upon this set to give you a complete front/back view, internals, etc, this is currently where we are, and it has taken awhile! I will definitely add to it as I can with supplementals like buckets/swabs, fishnets, lifeboat, etc. Maybe even some custom pirate sprites as I learn.

Now, without further ado, here is my first original RPG Maker Community Work: (SO EXCITED!) :D I hope it serves some of you well. Thank you for being so welcoming and patient with me this past year or so as I've bugged a lot of you incessantly for advice or tips. It's really kept me going.

Hey I'm trying out your ship tileset for the first time and I feel like it's very buggy and needs fixing. Although I don't know how you fix a "glitched" picture file. I'm trying to build a mast with the rope ladders but for some reason every time I place the last piece before where the rope is tied off, it deletes the ship hull, and replaces it with the water tiles I placed underneath the ship.

This has to do with the number of layers MV allows you to implement. If you read back a little, another user had the same question and we addressed it there. Please let me know if those solutions do not work for you. :)
  5. She's a beautiful ship! To my eye, it looks a bit more like MZ with the crispness. Thanks so much for this generous contribution!
  6. Thanks! Was the first thing I ever really made for the community. I have some more recent ones here, though I should come back and rework this at some point.
  7. I'm sorry, just came upon this post, that is an amazing ship, how would I go about using the tiles, I'm kinda new to these types of tiles, thank you and amazing work!
  8. Should just be able to right click and save as to the necessary folder in your project. I believe the initial post has some further instruction. :)
  9. Thank you for the response, I'll see if I can find the post with the instructions
