    Game Features.

    1. Uses Murder Engine- A game mechanic that randomizes who the killer will be and who the victims will be. If the player does not find a clue to the murders in allotted time the Murder engine will then pick a new victim one by one till there are none left except you and the killer and if that happens to you well lets just say it won't be pretty.
    2. Murder Engine- Has 3 unique elements - 1. Murderer picker randomly picks who the murder will be. 2. Crime Randomizer selects from the list of actors who will be the first to die. If player is chosen it will be skipped to next actor. 3. Timer a hidden counter that checks if a clue item is found in a certain time frame, if said item is not found a new crime will happen.
    3. Uses- Mythos Horror pack for the look and feel of the game.
    4. Will include custom icons. Window skin. And eventually menu system.
    5. May include custom music from the time period for setting and atmosphere. (As for now I have fillers.)
    6. Game will not include a battle system (Well because its a murder mystery game I cant have you going around killing everyone now can I?)
    7. Includes Parallax mapping. (Its my favorite type of mapping makes your game look its best.)
    8. Character Busts. (Mythos Horror Pack characters subject to change.)
    9. Quick time events and puzzle solving.
    10. Game will Have controller support.
    11. 8 Directional character movement.

    Critique of this game:

The game will be short over all it will most likely only last an hour for new players.

Not enough resources compiled to fit PV games style I have all his packs but still I don't Have a toilet or any bathroom resources :(

Story may be shallow and not much after intro.

These Are all subject to change through the development course of the game.

    What inspired me:

Well to be honest I got this idea from Clue the game. I wanted to attempt a system kinda like it. I know my idea isn't totally original but I just thought it would be fun to do. I hope whom so ever chooses to play the game will appreciate the hard work and effort I have put into the game.

  2. This is sublime so far, I am really looking forward to it!
  3. Most successful business man among his friends, and cannot afford basic security at parties.

What is a quick time event?

Since it is your own mansion do you have a gun somewhere, or an emergency phone line/escape route?  It's after 1915 and he is rather rich, I'd assume he has service.  I could see this being a problem being invited to an unfamiliar setting, but this Charles's home turf.

I'm glad you went with a game concept without a battle system, it will be interesting to see how the puzzles work out while exploring the mansion.  Will there be different endings based on whether you're able to stop the killer at victim 1 as opposed to victim 6 where it becomes painfully obvious who the killer was?

Its funny you mentioned that about him having a weapon for security we will get to that part :o   muhahaha but yeah I don't want a battle system in this game its strictly all puzzles and clue finding. Cant have the player shooting all his guests just to be safe can we? Thanks for pointing out the stuff I think I should address. As for the different endings yeah I am going to have different endings for the amount of survivors that are still alive. And this game generates a random killer so one of the guest is the killer so you will never know who the killer is till its you and them xD at that point its going to be too late.
  5. This looks pretty interesting!

Thanks I am trying to make it cool I hope it will be received well, I am working pretty hard on it so far.
  7. Looks like a fascinating project as really enjoyed playing Clue in the past. The only thing I might address is that the millionaire is having a party, yet the ration of males to females is unbalanced (even in the context of a normal game the ratio of male and female should be more equal in numbers, i.e. currently too few women). One of the trademarks of Clue was that sexes were balanced.

Anyway, that is the only suggestion I have atm, looks like an intriguing game and hoping for a demo soon.

I understand that but I don't have many pioneervalleygames characters in the 1920's style so I had to deal with what I had but I get what your saying. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it and will take that into account..
  9. It also was (and technically still is, I suppose) the proper etiquette for the sexes to be equally represented at a dinner party. (Except for children, but they don't count and aren't meant to be seen, anyway). Not really having seen the available character pool, do you think there'd be any which could be edited?

Are the puzzles going to be all seek-and-find style, or will they be more like Professor Layton or Hotel Dusk?

Well the puzzles are going to be search and find, puzzle lock systems, push pull puzzles. I will try and look at some videos of what those games puzzles are like as I have never played those, but I will do my best to make the puzzles in this game vary and try not to be the same every time. Thank you for suggestions and as for characters I may try to get into contact with PV Games if they ever open the request portion again if not I may try my hand at edits (No promises though).
  11. The puzzles in Hotel Dusk were pretty good, but a lot of them relied on the Nintendo DS's touchscreen. One in particular had you using the stylus and touchscreen to manipulate a paperclip in an attempt to pick a lock. I know Moghunter has a script (in Portuguese, but still) that lets you set up locks and things requiring a sequence of keys (A, Up, S, Left, Left, etc) to open, if you wanted to do something similar.

Professor Layton used a lot of riddles and logic puzzles as well as sliding panel puzzles, math riddles, etc. (Freaking LOVE those games!)
  12. Wanted to leak this little screenshot of the mock-up UI.

according to the UI on the top right, 4 party guests are dead and you are that much closer to your doom.

Other systems I will be adding (not mentioned above) is the clue notification and a danger system.

(you can now potentially be a victim but you can get away based on Charles Worthington awareness of his surroundings).

  13. @Hailren - It's weird that you mention there are no bathroom resources, because I could have sworn there was one in the game It Lurks! But you're right, I don't see a tub and the creator somehow managed to get hold of a toilet.

That aside, just wanted to say I am looking forward to this game :)
