Moving the sprite, but not the actual event

  1. Hey guys,

Im currently working on a system where, if an event walks over another event, the events move slightly aside.

Ive currently tried this by changing the x and y coordinates by 0.3, but i believe it would be more efficient if i could actually just move the sprite slightly instead of the actual event.

Ive looked into rpg_sprites and found: this.anchor.x, and this.anchor.y. But now i got to find a way to actually adjust this value mid-game for the specific events to which i wish to adjust this, and i've no idea how as i cant find a event sprite array.

Anyone know how i can change the sprite coordinates mid game, or any other alternatives?
    Thanks in advance!
  2. Considering the sprite IS the event, that is actually impossible. Sprites do not exist outside of the event it is attached to.

Edit: I have no idea why you posted this in rgss2 scripts, as that is for VX scripts you have made and released, and your profile says you are using MV. Moved to Plug-in Requests.
  3. ye when i realised i posted it on the wrong part, i did report. I guess it didnt go through. Also, when i adjust the this.anchor.x value in the script, it does change the position of every event, and im basically trying to replicate that effect, but only to specific events, and at specific moments
  4. I have just moved your other thread before seeing this one.

Please do not start multiple threads with the same query. The reason your Report "didn't go through" is that a Mod has to be on site and actually move it - reporting itself does not move anything.

As you have added further detail of the query in post #3, I shall leave this one and close the other.
