Moving Show Picture

So, I'm not sure how exactly to do this in an "easy" manner, so I thought I would ask the forums.

Some of you may or may not be familiar with the game "Soul Sacrifice" where sometimes when the boss' get hit, they will screech in some inhuman language, and sketchy text showing what they are saying will kind of spider across the screen.

There's a segment in my game where i want to do something like this on a semi-timer'd system, without having a huge complex show picture, end picture show another picture, etc event.

Does anyone have any ideas, or pointers?

You could try to do an animation for that in the database.

Wow lol thanks for making me feel stupid xD That would be a lot easier...now would I be able to still have that superimposed over the players screen like a show picture, or would that root them in place?

Depends on how you set up the animation. It can show up in relation to its target or just on screen.

OK cool, are you familiar with the soul sacrifice game? I want to have it so that during a few parts of the dungeon different texts will show up with an accompanying voice SE, and then during the actual boss fight. I think it would just be centered on the player, for the dungeon parts.

Never heard of that game before. Looked it up to get a point of what you want, but couldn't see it there either. Or maybe I just didn't identify it as that. But anyways, I'd say just set the animation's position to "screen" so that it just shows up on screen, ignoring the target's position.

Ok i know it's not the best quality, but if you skip to about 9:10 in this video, some text (i know, i know it's in japanese) in red font shows up on the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately I couldnt find a better example =\ but some bosses the text will criss cross and clutter up the screen as they scream, and I always thought it was really cool.




Also, would anyone be interested in helping me draw some of this?
