More Trouble

  1. Sorry that I've made another forum asking for help, but I guarantee that I'd never figure it out by myself.

Anyway.... right now, I'm trying to make a second character (NPC) appear after a part of the cutscene that I've been working on takes place in the PC's bedroom after the dream part that my previous thread focused on.

At the bottom of this shot, you can see the back of a female sprite with Red Hair and in a green dress. As is, she is there right off the bat, even when events before she appears are happening.

I do not know how to make it so that she is invisible, and then appear when she is needed without screwing up other things.

this is the current Event Process I have for the Bedroom as a whole. It starts out as a part of the whole cutscene from before, like I said. Milena is the name of the female character I am having problems with. I have it to where after the PC wakes up, knocking is heard, and he walks down to the doorway (at the bottom of the apartment in the screenshot). Then, when he reaches it, the female character barges in, and he takes a couple steps back quickly in surprise, and she barges in.

    Any advice?

    Thanks again.
  2. You have a choice.

Either - start her event with no graphic, and at the appropriate time in your cut scene use the 'Change Graphic command from within the set move route command to show her sprite.

Or have her event page conditioned by a switch.  In your cut scene event, activate that switch when you want her to appear.
  3. please give your topics titles that tell us what they are about, that will help everyone to solve the problem faster.

We know that you have trouble - you wouldn't post here in support otherwise. The title needs to say or describe what kind of trouble you have.

I suggest you spend some time with tutorials on how to use switches and basic eventing, as your questions are rather basic and those basics can't simply be guessed unless you already know them from other engines.

Either search for posts made by Grandmadeb and follow her links to the event tutorials, or follow the link in my signature. Especially you should play the variables guide and look how it was made in the editor, that will speed up your game development a lot.
