more efficient way to map with shift-click/elevation?

  1. hi, i'm struggling so bad to make maps that have multiple levels of elevation, like in the following screenshot. it takes so much painstaking shift-clicking, and then if i want to reshape the cliffs, it messes up and i have to keep re-doing it. it's driving me nuts! hoping that some mapping gurus out there can help me figure out a more efficient system for these kinds of maps. would it be better to copy these tiles to a D layer tilesheet so that the autotiling doesn't come into effect? Any advice would be much appreciated....

  2. I've moved this thread to MV Support. Thank you.

  3. Not that I'm aware of. Making halfway decent maps with many levels of elevation is extremely cumbersome in RPG Maker MV. I have an idea on how to fix it but odds are low that they'll implement it.
  4. It's so tedious! I notice that for outside maps, using the A5 tiles makes it a bit easier. Maybe I should edit the dungeon tileset so that the A5 sheet has all the tile variations that i need?
  5. Yeah I'd suggest using A5 tiles. Wrestling with the autotile system for multi-elevation maps is utterly atrocious and I'm not doing that. :p
