Members+ and beyond?

Do members+ resources ever get release to us "regular" members? aka the april vikings themed resources?

not regularly - there have been some limited sample packs (in the humble bundle for example), and there are plans to turn old M+ packs into shop product.


But currently there is no such option available - even older M+ packs are not available to newer members, and there is no info on when the idea of shop packs might become reality due to problems there (the shop pack variant has been initiated a long time ago in the M+ forum, probably a year or so ago, and is still only in the process without ETA)

^ what Andar said and what Viking Themed stuff for April?  I have the April Member+ Bonus Resources and I don't see anything like that in there. o.o

The Viking themed resources was for April 2013. Says so in the Humble Bundle best-of pack.

hm i saw the charackteres lunarea made for member+ and liked them but she said she made them over the last couple month so i guess to get all of them i have to wait for such a pack since there wont be all in the current m+?

Oh, 2013.  That's why I don't have it.  Totally makes sense now.  That wasn't mentioned in the OP. :L

Some M+ resources will be in the community DLC pack, so it might be in there.

I didn't even know that you can't access old member+ stuff, if you would get member+ now. Why is that?

I knew that cuz I read the stickies.  All the info is in there. :L

As for why, not sure, but it doesn't bother me as much as it prolly should, being a collector of resources...most of which I never use. lol

Well, that's not really helpful for people who think about getting member+, if important information like this is in member+ and I can't read it.

Little sad that old resources are becoming unavailable. I don't even know now if the stuff I'm interested in, is still available, if I would get member+ for christmas. :(

The reason why is so that someone can't pay 1 3 month membership and get all the resources that others have been paying for with their membership for much longer.

Think of it as more rewards for longer membership.

Yeah, it's basically to keep it fair. I've paid a lot more than you did since I was a Member+ for longer, so I should have had access to more resources than you.


Remember that member+ is a subscription based service and not a 1-time payment. If it's a 1-time payment, then by all means make everything accessible to every member+ coz that will still be fair.

I'm not an admin, but, I would guess it's so someone doesn't just sign up for Member + for a 3 month, download all of the old Member + stuff then cancel the membership.  So they'd get several years of Member + artwork for around $14.

Well, they always come out with nice stuff every month.  A lot of it, lately, has been DS/DS+ based resources, which I LOOOOOOOVE, and some is music and other things.  Plus, you get access to other resources made by others with Members+.  I'm offering some remastered XP music that blows the XP OST music away, some DS+ stuff and I will be providing my own tiles later on.  On top of that, you get to see stuff that isn't yet available in the store, like sneak previews of things.  It really is worth the money.  I got a year-long sub and it was worth every penny. :)

To be honest, $14 for 3 months worth of the materials is a steal. It is VERY much worth the price.

Well, I'm not interested in DS stuff to be honest, I would've been interested in the sprites and the Pixel Myth add-on for example. But that seems to get unavailable (or already is) when I get member+ gifted for christmas. And I wasn't even aware of that until now, because there is no information about it outside of the member+ section?

I think, I kind of get the explanations about someone abusing this if everything would be available at once, but couldn't there be at least some sort of option to unlock old packs for member+? I don't know, pay additional money or choose every month wich pack you want to download? This way you could at least pick and have a lot of options. Or have an additional old pack in some sort of rotation available every month, so new member+ can at least hope to get some of the old stuff if they continue to pay.

A store pack would be another nice option.

That has been asked a lot of time before, and as I said above Degica intends to make old M+ available in the store - but appearently there are some complicated steps that need to get solved before the old resources can be made available again.
For several months the answer has always been "we want to make the store packs, but there are things remaining to be solved before we can offer them".
