Member+ questions

I'm not well versed in all the advantages of Members+, but I can tell you a bit about the resources.


The resources released in Members+ are completely different from what gets released in restaff and are made by the same people who make the packs for the store. In my personal opinion they are higher in quality than Restaff and they are more often original instead of edits. There are also some resources that are there permanently. The request thread isn't better or worse, it's just different. The point of it is to tell us resource creators what you want to see next and it gets more priority than other similar requests, it isn't meant to be a way to get help for your specific game. You also get previews of packs yet to be released so your opinions on those packs can have an effect on the finished product.

From my experience, you get several benefits:

1. Roughly every month or two, quite a few artists release Member+ specific resources.   These range from sprites to songs, to battlebacks.  The artists also take requests in the Member + Requests thread.  These are separate from the ReStaff resources and not available to non-Member+ members.  These often follow a theme, such as "1920s Gangsters"

2. If you purchase resources from the store on the RPG Maker site (the "Store" tab), you get a nice discount on pretty much every resource.  For example, a $29.95 tileset might cost you only $19.95.  Obviously, cheaper items give less of a discount --- a $10 resource pack sells for $7 to Member+ members for example.    Also, the non-Steam version of RPG Maker (VX Ace and XP) sell for discounted prices to Member + members.

3. You get more storage space on the Member + area so you can upload your game for other people to try.

Just with #2 alone, a yearly Member + subscription can pay for itself with a few resource purchases. 

And for #1, I've seen some really amazing resources, like really nifty battlebacks, plus a selection of rather unique songs and sprites.

I've never tried the game advertisement so I can't comment on it. 

I'm sure one of the admins will post a lot more detail on what Member + benefits exist.  But that's my experience.

Ah, I forgot to mention that unlike ReStaff, all the resources for the Members+ releases are able to be used commercially.

The price bonus for Member+ is probably the most usefull part for a lot of people, but it should be noted that you need to purchase in the forum store, not in the main store to get that bonus - the size of the bonus depends on the package purchased and can be between 10% and 40% of the full price.


One Member+ advantage not yet mentioned is the blog on this site - you need to be Member+ in order to create a blog, others can only read them.


It should also be noted that the Member+ bonus resources are usually only available for three months before being replaced by new resources - this is to prevent people from paying once to get all resources of the past. Older M+ resources are currently no longer available, also there are discussions (without a timeline so far) to make them available again as shop purchases.

is there a detailed ship tileset for vx in the meber+ ressources

or are there some screenshot to see what ressources you currently get?

One was released previously. It's not available right now, but it likely will be once we start putting some of the archives up for sale.

also loking forward for the release a ship is definetiv something that you realy miss in the offical resources

They look great! It is great having a bunch of resources that have the same style. The default resources can be stretched pretty far but I thought there could be more. What is better than getting them from the source.
