  1. So... is anyone else enjoying Mega May on the 3DS eShop? ^_^
Mega Man IV (GB) is supposed to be released today, as a matter of fact.

What are your favorite GB Mega Man games? Any you DON'T like? I know a lot of people dislike MMII (again, not the NES one, Mega May is all about GB/C games), but I played it a lot when I was a kid, and I still don't find myself hating it. To its credit, it has the all-powerful Metal Blade (DESTRUCTION IN EIGHT DIRECTIONS!!! RAWR!!!!!11), and the MM3 (NES) version of Rush Jet, which far surpasses any other iteration, as you can freely control it. Also, Rush Marine is actually useful in a few of the levels! I barely used it at all in the NES versions of MM3 and MM4 (actually, Rush Jet completely overshadows it in MM3). On top of that, the relative ease of the game makes it more approachable for casual replays, in my opinion. Contrast that with Mega Man III, which is FRICKIN' HARD. Not BAD, not bad at all, but HARD!

I was crazy about Xtreme as a kid, but playing through it again doesn't seem so special. It's a personal thing, not a dig at the game or anything like that. Also, I don't recall the game being so glitchy. Several times during the last level, I had to restart because the scrolling was messed up and I could walk through walls, etc., and couldn't proceed to the end. That sucked. The glitch even persisted throughout the rest of the game until I reset it completely via the Virtual Console menu.

Anyway, still ahead of us are MMIV (today!!), MMV (Stardroids!), and Xtreme 2 (hopefully not as glitchy).

Thoughts? I can't be the only MM fan on RPG Maker Web, now can I? :p
  2. You know, this might sound strange, but....I DON'T PARTICULARLY CARE FOR THE SIDE-SCROLLING MEGAMAN GAMES!

*Crowd throws rotten viggies and someone yells "You Suck!"*

I'm sorry, but they just never appealed to me. I still enjoy them from time to time, but for the most part I can't get into them. My Mega love really comes from the Legends games. God how I love me some Megaman Legends. Mega May just reminds me that we could have had Legends on the 3DS.

Also I don't think X was that buggy. It might be a combination of bugs and the 3DS emulator.
  3. Yeah, I also thought the glitches in Xtreme might be related to the VC emulator. I know such crap never happened when I played the original GBC version.

And yeah, I also really like the Legends games. The cancellation of Legends 3 is just one of those things you have to consciously not think about.
  4. I'd love to have some of these games on my 3DS...if I had one.

Really looking forward to being able to get the GB Mega Man games for a very reasonable price sometime fairly soon though.

I actually have MM1: Wily's Revenge, and MMXtreme 2, but I never beat Xtreme 2...(not completely anyway)
  5. By the way, GB IV is totally amazing. I couldn't believe the overall quality of the game. There's really no other "classic series" Mega Man game like it.
  6. Well, now Mega May is over. My favorite games were definitely IV, V, and Xtreme 2, so the month just kept getting better.

This topic wasn't such a hit. Ah well. :\
