Mass Deleting / Copying in Database

Is there anyway in the F9 Database to select more than 1 thing at a time to copy over / delete e.c.t.?

OK so found how to mass copy, however, when I try to mass export something, it always crashes my VX Ace client, and only exports the first item I have requested... any ideas?

It shouldn't crash.  Do you have two client programs running at the same time with both projects open?  That's the easiest way to copy stuff between them.

To mass delete you can always multi-copy blank entries and paste them over them, or if you wish to wipe the entire database then click Change Maximum and set it to 1 then change it back.

Yeah, there was a version that would crash when you tried to export more than one thing at once. Pain in the butt. I'm pretty sure the issue is gone with the current version, so try downloading and reinstalling Ace and see if it helps.


btw - how do you "mass copy"? The only way I know of is having the two games open in different windows, and using Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, but you can still only do it one at a time. Unless that's a newish addition too?

Mass copy is the 'Multi-copy' option that appears in the last line of the window when you right click on the items on the left side of your database.

It doesn't work in the script editor and map editor.

I can see I will have to pay more attention :)

That isn't the case. 1.02a here.

With the latest version I downloaded and tried it with, it worked.

Darn, you're right. It wasn't working, then I reinstalled, and it was working, but in the latest it's not again. Now I'll have to check again on my PC when I get home.

Is this strictly a Steam related issue?

I have the latest store version 1.02a installed and did not run into any problems with the multi-copy & paste, even to other projects.

No, it's not. I only just downloaded the Steam version in the last week for my laptop. Before that, I've always used the version from the forum store.


Okay ... I'm home, and on my PC, it works. I can select multiple resources, hit Export, and it will process each one, stopping to ask what I want to name it. No crashing. This is version 1.02a downloaded from the forum store.


On previous versions (also downloaded from the store) the issue was present.
