Hello, I'm having some issues with making a game. I'm having my character begin with no equipment whatsoever, and want to have the initial low level equipment be found by looting some of the skeletons nearby. I have tried making the event add an item and whatnot, and put the priority at "same as characters", but when I try to interact with the skeletons, nothing happens. What am I missing?

Screenshot of the Skeleton event please.

Did you check the inventory? When you add an item it doesn't show any message by default, just adds to the inventory.

@Waterguy: That was one thing that I noticed happened, but for awhile the skeleton wouldn't even show up. I fiddled around with the self-switch and realized that the "tutorial" I had first read (not a real tutorial, more of a comment on a question like mine) was wrong. I kust had to turn off the self switch on the first event tab and follow corect instructions. Thanks for the replies though.

You could also just duplicate the chest event, then change the graphic and remove the Set Move Route and Play SE commands. Also check the 'Direction Fix' box so the image doesn't change when you interact with it.
Are you sure it was the tutorial that was wrong (can you provide a link to it?) and not a case of you not following the instructions properly? A lot of newbies put the self switch condition on the first page instead of the second and wonder why the event never runs. -
@ Shaz Yea, sorry for the confusion over the tutorial, it was more of a Q&A on a steam forum. Most tutorials on youtube or something actually didn't have what I was looking for and the closest thing I found to a tutorial was an answer to a question, which was a wrong answer saying that you should tick the box on the first event page to turn self switch A on. I tried to find the page again, but couldn't find the exact page. The closest I found was one with the same type of wrong answer followed by correst answers:http://steamcommunity.com/app/220700/discussions/0/864977479820651020/

Oh, okay. I don't visit the steam community - I get too cranky reading over there. And youtube isn't a great place to learn how to use RPG Maker, given that ANYBODY can post stuff to youtube and there's no quality assurance. At least on the forums here, if someone posts a tutorial that's wrong, it won't get approved, and if someone provides instructions that are wrong in a post, there are a dozen people waiting to jump in and correct them :)
To find help, you're better off doing a search using the forum's search facility, then using Google, just in case you'd resorted to that at any point along the way.
And since (I think) you've got it sorted ...
