Looking for: Guest Bloggers

  1. We at RPGMakerWeb are looking to step up our blog to the next level, and its just too much for one man to do alone. I don't have the knowledge to write every type of tutorial, or the skill to make most resources, or the time to review tons of games.

In order to turn the official blog into something every RMer will want to read, we are looking for people to create guest blog posts for the official blog. What kind of posts are we looking for?

    • Tutorials: Written or Video
    • RPG Maker Game reviews: Written or VIdeo
    • Resources
    • RPG Maker Let's Plays
    • Anything else RM related, just run it by me first.
The goal is to have 3 posts a week.

Now, its obvious what we get out of this, but what do you get out of it? When your guest post goes up the about me section will have a place to list a reasonable amount of projects, resource threads, or your own blog. We will also link one of these on the Facebook page when linking to the guest blog post. Its the perfect opportunity to get your name out there for others to see.

In addition, we may be picking a few of the best guest blog posters into regular columnists, writing 2-3 articles a month for a bit of cash.

Think you have something in your head that would look great on our blog? Give me a PM with your blog post idea, write it up, and see your name in the RPG Maker community rise.
  2. I might be interested in tutorials... would have to think on it first.

Do bloggers get a special usergroup badge?
  3. How long will this be open for? I'd be interested in doing reviews but I'll need to fit playing a game in somewhere right now to send to you. I have reviews of other stuff if that's of any interest.
  4. I could definitely set up a special userbadge for regular contributors. Also, I could do a User award for being a guest contributor.

This will probably be open for a good while. We can never have too much good content to put on the blog.
  5. Great idea!
  6. Oh, dear. I get the feeling we'll look back and curse the day RMWeb officially opened the blood gates to the Let's Play fractal nightmare universe.

At least, I'm sure I will.

Its not like I'm going to throw up anything and everything people send me. Everything I get I'm going to be reviewing before it goes up for quality.
  8. No, you don't understand. This is a blood contract. The instant you slip up and forget to ratecommentsubscribe I don't think any of us will ever hear from you again.

Realtalk I'm actually looking forward to seeing what sort of thing people come out with. The last public effort in this vein was the ~*~ezine~*~ back on .org and that was some sad right there.

    • Resources
Ooh, are we talking tools and scripts too or...?
Edit: I figure it's probably something I'd be useful for if I were to attempt to submit stuff.
  10. Scripts are good too.
  11. Futur guest bloggers may be rewarded with member+ to motive more people. B)
  12. This is great! I was actually just about to start a Youtube series that reviewed RM games, so this is perfect timing. :p
  13. This sounds interesting, I'll check to see if I can do some tutorials on my spare time :)
  14. I'd be interested in doing tutorials. I was a moderator and a tutorial contributor on a different forum, so I think I'd be a good candidate for this. I'm quite good with events so my tutorials revolve around that. I've only put up one tutorial so far on this forum, which I'll provide a link to, but if necessary I could PM you the links of my tutorials from my old forum. I provide demos with all my tutorials, along with pictures of event coding so it's easy for people to follow.

EDIT: Also, I know I don't have too many posts, but I'm usually lurking quite a bit, so I'm almost always around.
  15. Hey, this sounds pretty cool! I might see what I can do, since I make a few RPG Maker related posts over on my author blog anyway. Question: are you expecting only original content, or is stuff that's already been posted in the tutorial forum, as a review in a game's thread still acceptable?

I'd like to point out you are not staff, so please refrain from saying anything about rewards.
  17. Original content. Anyone who is interested should just send me a guest blog post. I'll respond with whether I'll use it or not or whether I think it needs work. If I'm not going to use it you can post in on the forums or your own blog or whatever.

Looking for a little bit of everything, so don't worry about specific subject.

Also: Give me some time to respond please, it shouldn't take more than a day or two, I just want to be able to review the writing, check against other posts in the works, etc.

I don't have much yet, but I intend to start some basic scripting guides. I have the first one on variables here on steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=126056347
  19. I have always been interested in writing reviews. I love to jump at the chance to do something for such a great community.

Sorry for sort of re-asking, does that mean that it'll be open pretty much indefinitely?
