If you could do one on my most recent release, the remaster of "Crimson Light" It'd be awesome! I need all the feedback I can get to improve.

Thank you in advance if you do! I'll be looking forward to it :D
Looking for games to LP!

that's fine. I'm assuming you're gonna play with sound on your end, but mute the game's audio when it goes on Youtube, right?
I'm afraid not. The way the recording software works, we cannot do multiple audio streams. So we're going to have to mute your games' sound completely while doing the play-through. Sorry! :-( -
Are you using OBS? There's a setting on it to capture microphone input without capturing your sound card, in which case you could play with the sound on, but not record it. FRAPS has the same ability.

Ah, well that's unfortunate. Still glad you're taking a look. Looking forward to what you guys think :) -
@bokunoyuki Why not just change the illegal music for something that is legal? You've got some time before the LP. There are lots of free tracks and fairly cheap music packs to select from out there. It'd make your game look more professional. Most people (I do) hate when games use ripped off music D;

I would if I could. The files are lost along with my old laptop that was used to create the project, I actually have no way to modify the game. This was made many years ago when I was just learning how to use RPG Maker, so using music packs and such was not important to me. My goal was to make a complete game on my own, and that is what I accomplished. The best thing I got out of it, was a unique battle system that will be carrying over to my next game, so I would love to see what other people think about the battle system, as well as my writing skills from several years ago -
@bokuhetalia Oh, I see. Quite unfortunate situation :/

I'd be interested in seeing an LP of my RPG Maker VX Ace game, found here:
https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/the-root-of-all-evil-a-micro-rpg.64205/
It is a... fairly short, gameplay driven RPG. It has some story, not much, but some. More focus is put on atmosphere than story, and even more than that is on the gameplay.
I have been tweaking its balance a lot over the last few months, from other's feedback. People say it's hard, which I want. But I want it to be hard in a way that's fair. I'm also interested in if I teach the player properly. Meaning, do you just know from level layout where to go, how to fight, ect. The best way to get this information is from blind LPs.
Thank you for your time! -
Hey hey, everyone, here is our Let's PLay/First Impressions of Ikenie by @Kyuukon. This challenging puzzle game is so similar to Dark Souls that it gave us flashbacks! ;-) Seriously, from the atmosphere to the challenge, there are a lot of similarities. And what's real awesome is that most of it works. The game itself is a lot of fun and forces you to think your way through the stages--just hacking and slashing will get you killed.
That's not to say there aren't things that can be improved. The opening boss fight (which we repeated about eight times) has too high of a difficulty curve, with the skeleton mage causing way too much damage for a starting enemy. The hit range of the weapons need to be a bit wider too, giving a little more grace to the player to score a hit.
But otherwise, there wasn't much we could find to be critical about. This is a solidly put together game that is both fun and interesting, and worth the time of someone who likes the Dark Souls genre of game. Kudos to the creator for the obvious effort put into this!

Hey everyone, Steel here. Teal and I were looking over our current list of games to LP and decided to post that list. We're doing this for two reasons: (1) We want people to see where in the rotation their game is (we try to do about 2 LPs a week). (2) If we somehow accidentally cut someone out, we want to give that person a chance to speak up and get on the list.
So here is where we're at so far. If you asked us to do an LP of your game and don't see your game on the list, please reply as soon as possible and let us know:
North Wall by @Zevia
RTP by @Milennin
Wooden Ocean by @lianderson
Dance of the Damned by @Tanarex
Eternal Twilight by @Fernyfer775
Devil Theory by @bokunoyuki
Crimson Light by @atasuke10
The Root of All Evil by @TheTitan99 -

Hey Steel and Teal, I composed the music for ikenie. Thanks so much for doing the LP of the game. I had a great time watching you suffer (in a good way) through the battles and puzzles. You exhibited far more patience than I did on my first playthrough. I remember far more curse words coming out of my mouth. Haha!
There is so much more to the game after the vampire fight, so I hope you can find the time to continue the journey to the end. There are multiple endings too, depending on some choices you make near the end of the game. I'm glad you enjoyed it so far. Thanks again for the LP! -

LOL yes we suffered (in a good way) through all right. Ikenie is not an easy game. No hand-holding! ;-)
But we enjoyed it, and the fun factor of a game is what's most important.
The music in the game is lovely and sets the atmosphere perfectly. Great job!
Look forward to hearing what else you come out with. :) -
@Chris Porter Music By the way, we listened to the sample music on your website and loved it. You are very talented! :)

Thank you so much for the compliment! I'm glad you felt the music in ikenie matched the atmosphere well. And thank you for checking out some of my other music on my site.@Chris Porter Music By the way, we listened to the sample music on your website and loved it. You are very talented! :)
By the way, I also composed the music for another game that @Kyuukon is currently making. I'm not at liberty to disclose any details yet, but definitely look forward to that in the coming months. :) -
If you like Final Fantasy games, then Northwall is for you. A very solid and well-written fantasy RPG crafted in RPG Maker VX/Ace, Northwall takes you on the dark and foreboding journey of Suven the Cleric in a world being overrun by evil. The characters are unique with their own voice, and the plot is streamlined quite nicely. Overall, there is not much to be critical about.
Now, there are ways this game could be better. The supporting cast needs more stakes, things that they can lose or things they need to overcome. This could be as simple as a sweetheart in another town to needing to prove themselves to an authority figure to a debt to a god. The lack of stakes for the support cast isn't felt, but the presence of such would make this game even more powerful.
There is also a slight issue with the first boss fight. Given the way the game handles encounters, battle strategy, and cinematics, a chance to back away would be nice. But that is the only thing we could find that really needed improvement.
Overall, we highly recommend this game.

Hopefully I have enough time to finish implementing my new loot system before you get to my game (Eternal Twilight)! I believe that it will drastically improve gameplay, and I'd love for you and whoever watches the video to see it in all it's glory! :D

Just dropped by to say that usually I'm not a huge fan of LPs. Too often they end up being more about the player than the game. But you have a very nice balance, giving full attention to the game without being ciphers yourselves. I also like the way you find constructive things to say, as well as pointing out areas for possible improvement. That way the developer can build on a strength, as well as correct any weakness.
So thanks, very enjoyable. -
@Kes That means a lot. Thank you! :)

All right everyone, here is our Let's Play of RTP (Rescue the People) by @Milennin. A fun little game that relies upon randomly generated parties, creating a different experience each time you play, RTP is very heavily strategy based, forcing you to make use of what you have without any help from the environment (you have no Items whatsoever). Despite the way that sounds, this game is a lot of fun for a quick "pick up" game, and has genuine replay value.
There are a few things that could change: The Fighter classes need to cause more base attack damage (the Thief classes could use a boost too) and there needs to be full healing after every fight instead of partial healing. Some party combinations are just unbalanced against the player, and that undermines the point of the game (being able to beat it with any party of heroes).
Don't let that turn you away from RTP, though. The creator has a solid start on a very original and interesting experience. We'll be looking at this one's continued development in the future.
Here is the video:

I'll copy and paste my response in the PM, as it addresses some of the points in the video.
SpoilerAttack damage is deliberately made low to discourage just hitting the attack button over again, and mostly be made to deal just enough damage to finish off an enemy without spending MP. There are a few exceptions, like Berserker. The point with Berserker though is that you first need to build his attack power, which is what Anger is for (also restores his MP). You guys never used his Rampage skill, which does add 50% to his damage output and also heals him every time he attacks, so using that should have satisfied your desire for stronger attacks.
The Assassin isn't just about attacking every turn. He was made to trickle down enemy HP using Bleed or weaker attacks, while waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike for huge damage using his skills.
I don't think Mage is overpowered, but with how straight-forward her skills are, she might seem that way.
A few other things I noticed during your guys' playthrough (I wish I could have been there to tell you while playing, lol), you never used your Imp's skills. Using those can make a huge difference, like adding to its own survivability or drawing attacks from the enemy.
You never used the Paladin's Shelter skill when enemies were Charging up hits. It reduces all enemy damage by 75%, so that can save your party if multiple enemies are charging at once. Also, Paladin's Martyr is super useful, as not only does it draw attacks from enemies, but it also turns into a strong self-heal + multi-damage skill on the next turn. You guys would've loved it.
I think the main reason you went Game Over twice is because you were too much in the fighter = high attack damage mind-set, and so put less focus on using their skills to their maximum potential.
As for healing, I deliberately designed it to not heal the party back to full HP/MP, because doing so causes players to get stuck into skill rotation loops. Like, once they find a comfortable way to open a fight with, that's all they'll be using up to the end of the game, making all battles feel the same. Having full HP and MP at the start of every battle would make the player feel like they can be reckless without any sort of penalty, which is why I went for a 50% restore between battles. This way, you can't get stuck somewhere in the middle of the game without items or restore points, but there's still the reward for finishing fights with higher HP/MP. It'll also make you think more about what to do at the start of each new battle, and change your style of play depending on the state of your party.
But I can understand why you struggled, as the game is made to be different from the traditional RPG, and it kind of forces you to throw away everything you already know and are comfortable with.
I'm a bit sad you never made it out of the town, because that's when more enemy variety happens. Nonetheless, I very much liked watching your playthrough, and it was useful to me (already caught a few things I need to fix for the next version). I'm very glad you guys did in fact had a good time with it, despite not making it far. :D So thanks a lot for playing.
