This is a bit too big of a request for this section, Resource Requests is for help with one or two things (like asking for just the game over screen), not a whole bunch of stuff at once. If you need a lot of custom things, you may be better off making a project recruitment thread (making sure to follow the guidelines) and finding an artist to help there.
That said, there is a school tile pack sold in the store, and a recent request has a few links that may help on the tile front. -
Pick up a copy of Aseprite and make your own. ;)
-
Good idea, but it seems that not everyone is skillful with graphics. It's easy for you to recommend this, because you are an animator. I am not sure if OP can make such sprites though, so that's why she/he is asking for someone else to do it in the first place.Pick up a copy of Aseprite and make your own. ;)
For the record @Kittyplaysgameswithstring DS+ DLC has school graphics, but you might need to edit them a little, in order to make bleeding eyes people. But it would be easier than building the sprite from scratch. DS+ is for VX Ace though. -

I dont think people need to be great pixel artists to make good or interesting sprites. People also can't learn if they never try it themselves. My background is with high resolution animation, not with pixel art, going from working from 4k 3D visual effects to 16x16 pixel grids is a huge departure that required me to relearn everything about art from scratch. ANYBODY can learn to create their own assets, no matter the project, the issue is most people give up before they even try, and those that do try tend to give up before they get good. -
@Dreadshadow You're right I cannot make sprites. I am not skillful with graphics as to why I am asking.
-
And here comes OP to explain the situation.
@VisitorsFromDreams I understand quite well that your expertise is far away from pixel art, but here is the case. You got more relevant knowledge than others have, in general, like efficient use of colors, some secrets of a good animation (pixel art can be animated too) thus it seems to me like you are more capable of doing it than an average user. Asperite needs a lot of time and a lot of effort, things people want to invest elsewhere. And that's why I said what I said. Anybody can learn anything. Not everyone is willing to learn how to do things. Thus, this forum provides a place to request resources.
You will be surprised, but sometimes people make such resource requests for free, while others make a LOT of resources for the community, for free too. So if you are not willing to contribute on this thread, it is understandable and respected. Your suggestion was clever and nice. I like your encouraging spirit and I think @Kittyplaysgameswithstring will consider it as an option, but in the meantime, let's go back on topic.
As I already said, DS+ contains school sets. With small edits you can make bleeding sprites. What matters though is that DS+ is for VX Ace and I am not sure if it is ok ofr VX (I see you are a VX user) and also it will cost money.
@hiddenone just explained to you though, that a request should be small.
Thus I want you to see what DS+ is including, I want you to make a decision and if the decision is "I don't wanna buy this", then you should stick with this thread. In any case, you must edit it, so the request will be simple. -
DS+ is in a different style though. And it's "optimized" for VXAce, but you can totally use it in VX as well. :)
If you prefer to use the default style:
There's a Classic School Tiles Resource pack sold on this site.
In case you have VXAce, the Ace generator includes school uniforms. If you don't, Tkool has a portrait/faceset/sprite generator that also includes a school uniform (boys & girls).
Soramani did portraits/facesets and sprites of Japanese students.
There's actually a lot more stuff out there, those are just the ones I remember. I also suggest you start by searching the VX(Ace) resources forum. You can also take a look through my topic as it's full of Japanese sites. -
Cheers to Dread and slim for actually taking a moment to actually write out a thoughtful and helpful post, as to why I waited till I got home from work to be able to have the time to reply. I will take into consideration that pack, however, if I can avoid having to purchase content I would be using only once or twice would be good, but if I cannot find what I'm looking for then I will get it. I as well face another hard issue like most humans is time. I like many others are doing this as a hobby as I most times work 50 hours a week at my job. Move this post if you will, however I did not see anywhere saying that this forum was for "small resource requests" the title of this thread should then be small resource requests and not be some what misleading. Thank you again for actually taking the time to respond instead of what feels like most of this community is is just push you away, and not really contribute anything, and just throw rules at you. But you guys were nice enough to actually contribute so thank you.

It says it in the pinned topic tagged with the golden tag “Rules”.
https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/rules-on-requests.23/ -
This is the only thing that I could find even close to said "rule" that is being thrown at me, however quite vague. And I am still going to say the title to this particular forum is still very misleading.
7. Try to keep your requests to a minimum at a time, people are more likely to pick it up and fulfill your request if there's only a few things to make (2 spritesets VS 10). If you're planning on asking a lot of requests (more than 10) for custom resources, I suggest going to the Project Recruitment forum to recruit people for your project instead. -
I don't know, 'Resource Requests' seems pretty fitting since resource is singular. But one reason for the rule is that if you're asking for a whole bunch of things at once, it can be overwhelming for anyone who wants to help you and they may just not post at all since they don't think they can fully help.
I didn't add it before since quite a few links have been lost to time, but GrandmaDeb has a list of modern resources where there may be school tiles, but you'll need to search for them. -
Yes thing is if you are saying this is for "small requests" and the other one is for more major ones then it should be called "small resource requests". I posted here thinking this would be generally for resource requests no matter what the size. Calling it "resource requests" and slapping a small ones only is not truthful about the title. But no matter move me if you wish but it says one thing but being told another. Somewhat not cool.

So, as hiddenone explained, the rule makes it clear that this section is for small requests. The reason is, is because many people are wanting newly created resources. And asking someone to create an entire custom tileset for free is, well, just asking for too much. The people who help here do so because they genuinely enjoy helping. But it's not right for the rest of us to take advantage. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you are.
However, we do make exception to larger requests here when you are looking for existing resources. The problem with your initial post, and the reason hiddenone clarified in her response, is because it wasn't clear whether you were okay with existing resources or if you were expecting custom resources. This is also why the rules ask that you try to be as specific as possible.
You were rude in reply to hiddneone, who was simply trying to explain this to you, by stating that her post was not at all helpful, when indeed, it was. She clarified the rules, explained why she wasn't simply locking this topic for further replies, and even made some suggestions for you. Now, if that's clear, I suggest we all drop this part of it, otherwise people are going to be put off of trying to further help. If you aren't clear on it, feel free to message me and I can try to further clarify. -
I didnt mind if it was not a custom. Also I wasnt being rude at all. I wouldnt have cared at all if this person did lock it so I could put it in whatever one is the right one. ANYWAY I am doing further research found one thing I need and continuing to find what I need. I will probably make a new thread as I still do need a few things. Have a good day.

Well look @Kittyplaysgameswithstring , we are forced to throw rules to newcomers, so they can learn easily and adapt. Those blue auto comments though, are sometimes intimmidating. But don't worry, we got common sense and we know that newcomers will probably do wrong things.
We kindly ask for people to follow forum rules and specific guidelines for good reasons though. Just trust me on this.
So we would like you and every new member to feel welcome. -
Since the opening post has been removed, I'm closing this thread. If you would like this thread re-opened, please report this post and leave a message why.
