  2. Tried some 'speed' drawing today. I just decided that I'd do a human figure, then go for it and see what I end up with. Turned into a soldier...

    And! Some songs I've started. Let's just hope I get around to fleshing them out. I have a habit of starting something, then just abandoning it :unsure:

  3. I was hoping to finish a drawing yesterday, but sorely underestimated how long it takes to complete a drawing. Got a bit of detailing done for the Soldier one though.

    Update:

    Here some doodles I've done today. I think I'm going to do a "doodle page" every day or so, where I just draw whatever I feel like. No pressure to draw anything in particular, and no pressure to finish anything! That's my type of program :D I might try and finish the dragon though, since it turned out better than I thought. Maybe the bird too.

  4. Levi, it's great to see you drawing so much! Keep at it dude, and don't give up! I really like your soldier sketch, and the shading you've started on it. But don't stop at the wrists! Draw the hands! I know they're painful; hands are sucky and hard and take so much work, but you'll never get better if you don't try! I have to take that advice myself, haha. :>

    Thanks! Do or do not. There is no try. :ph34r: Haha, I will try :)

    I like them! The barmen in the back of the dance looks a bit like...Call that dancing? Pfft, youngsters =w=
  10. Got back into sketching the last couple days.

    I've been leaving my comfort zone, which I think is good... haha. Tried some cartoon characters, inspired by a debate Touch and Runaway had. You can decide which is which.

    Spoiler
    Also did a bit more off the same.

    Spoiler
    I decided to try and focus on coloring/shading this week... and somehow, with the sketch being the unimportant part, the sketch ended up being what I'm most proud of. I've had pets on the mind lately, 'cause my pup died Friday... so I went for a paw.

    Spoiler
    And lastly, just some fun. Playing around with the mirroring features in sketchbook resulted in the pretty critter below. :p

  11. That last one is scary Levi-chan ;w;
  12. Hey guys! Haven't been drawing too much, but here is some new stuff.

    Here I tried painting. It's a harp made out of a root.

    I think I'm getting a bit better. At the very least, drawing is becoming a easier for me.
  13. Loving what you've got so far. I think my favorites are the love birds and the dancing fella. Like your style, keep working at it.

    Thanks! I'm still not drawing nearly as much as I'd like to. Need to get motivated!!

  15. It's really cool to go through the sketches in chronological order, because there's definite improvement.

    I really like the sketch of a paw. I ought to start making those types of sketches myself. It's a really awesome way to learn. :)
  16. I really recommend that you take a stab at PaintTool SAI. IMHO it's the perfect tool for sketching and lineart because it's reaaaallly smooth. I think you'll enjoy it.
  17. @Lunarea - Thanks! One of my favorite things is seeing before and after, or a logbook of progress. If I didn't have this, I'd probably think I'm still as terrible as when I begun :p I've been working hard on my line art, trying to get nice unbroken lines. I'm still in the habit of chicken scratch/stuttering.

    @Archeia - Nice, I'll give it a try! Thanks :D

    Here's a rough concept sketch for an underwater cyborg submarine thingy. Part creature, part machine. The head is just a placeholder, since I still need to look up pictures of sharks/dolphins/fish for reference.

    Spoiler
    Edit: @Archeia - Love that program! The interface is simple, and for free [or even paid] software the amount of brush, canvas and 'effect' presets are amazing! The 'water' brush is awesome for blending, and the lines are great. Thanks for the heads up!
  18. Got a couple more sketches done today.

  19. Got an update on the robot vacuum thingy. This is the first time I've seriously taken a shot at painting... all my other attempts have been messy and half-assed. This has taken me about an hour so far. It's still a bit muddy, and I've got quite a few little details to add, but I'm happy with the form so far.
