Let's talk about LOVE!

Let's spice things up and talk about LOVE! True love, the only kind in my opinion. But some people have differn't views on love, while others do not even believe in it. So what is love to you? Do you believe in true love? Better yet give examples!! And yes I'm going to give examples and plug our game :p   I have 2 examples to give, but sadly only 1 video. Love is selfless devotion. What Tai was talking about in your status update was lust, which yes, is very fleeting.

True love comes from the soul, not physical attraction.

I believe true love has more to do with ones will than the chemical aspect. Sexual or otherwise. Its one thing to "feel" like you love someone when everything is going swell...and another thing to "show" that you love someone, even if you dont necessarily feel loving, or if everything is going 'right'. Ive never believed that love is some mystical force....but i do believe it is powerful, when unhampered by selfish expectation.

I think it includes it all!

You have to be attracted to the person, period. It being looks, personality, or a mix of both. Personally looks mean very little to me. I'm more interested in the inside, and I am very picky about it.

I do think you can't have true love based only on looks, as I classify that as lust. Thats the kind of attraction that kind of ruins this world, but thus is our society.

...everyone here seems to be fixating on sexual love, or at least the interest in finding someone to love and be loved in a marital sense. What about loving your best friend, or your family? Or heck, "showing" love by valuing Joe Blow, who you dont know, as a human?...

Yes, love is so much more. Every single human being should love every other, just because life is sacred.

I'm an ace, so I have no clue what this so called "true love" is in that sense of word as with girl friend/boy friend.

Either way, I was assuming that was what we were talking about, when someone says "TRUE LOVE" I automatically think "oh they mean a romantic relationship" because that's what they are usually talking about, am I

No, your absolutely right! When you hear the expression "your ture love", im not suprised that "Romance" is the thing that pops into your mind, me too. The thing I wanna know is "Why"? I was just trying to point out the stereo type (at least, thats what i think it is).   

It is, and it's because it's the way society thinks. You don't say "I truly love my brother" you say "I love my brother" because people assume you actually really do and you would do anything for your family, right?

When you say, "I love my girlfriend." There are people who think you are just saying it, and people that think you mean it. The phrase "I love you." can mean sooooo many things, sometimes the opposite.

But it feels weird to refer to a family member as "TRUE LOVE" because society has labeled it as a romantic relationship, just the way it is.

One of big factors when choosing MMORPG game to play for me is that how beautiful my female avatar can be as it is my avatar after all.


How that is related to this thread? Playing as female character can get you easily to even officer position. I think some people get attracted to me as a "female guild member."

But what does that have to do with love? That sound more like sex appeal to me.

As Aromantic (non romantic) it is a bit hard for me to tell the difference.

I always assumed that true love is when there is one last slice of pizza, and you give it to your lover because they mean that much to you o.0 Is that not true love?!
