  1. Hello, I recorded myself playing "O Come, All Ye Faithful" on my keyboard and was wondering if this is okay to use in my game. Is this hymn in the public domain? If not, is there any place I can go to see a list of hymns (and perhaps other "folk songs") that are in the public domain, possibly?

    Thanks.

EDIT: I just googled "public domain hymns" and found a site with this hymn listed on it; can anyone verify this, or am I good to go?
  2. as long as you give proper credit i dont see why not.
  3. It depends on the song/music you have used - it doesn't matter if it's a hymn or something else.

If there is a copyright on it, then you can't use even your own versions without a licence from the creator.

If it is an old song where the copyright has expired or if the creator has given a general licence to allow usage, then you can use it.

And in all cases, you have to search the specific song in the internet to check for copyrights, preferably in your countries' copyright registration office website.

Well, it was on a site called "Public Domain Hymns (dot com)," (with many others) so can I safely assume it's okay to use?

Its status was also corroborated by another website (along with a few other songs I'm interested in).
