Language

Last night I bought RPG Maker MV on Steam. While it's all and dandy, since I live in Brazil and my primary language is Portuguese, the whole software is in Portuguese.


Is there a way to change the software language to English? I ask this because the Portuguese translation was probably made by an auto-translator or something like that (for instance, Bat was translated as Bastão, which means a baseball bat--the correct translation should be morcego).


Also, as I intend to write my games mainly in English, having most terms already on the correct language is a plus.


So, if this can be done, please direct me to the right download files and procedures, please. If this can not be done right now, please consider finding a way to do so.

Regarding your question, is your Steam Client in Portuguese?


As far as I know, MV standalone takes its language settings from your OS language setting, and MV steam takes its language settings from your steam client.


Try switching your Steam language settings to English, see if it helps (maybe a reinstall will be needed to update the settings)

Might not need to switch the whole Steam language in fact.


In steam, right click on MV and select properties (or the equivalent in Portuguese), you should be able to select the App language in the Language tab.

You don't need to change the language of the entire steam client, you can change the program language in the steam program properties

It worked! I had to delete my project (menus changed to English, but the Database was still in Portuguese), but it was just a two-hour test I lost.
