My son Connor is just trying to earn a merit badge for Boy Scouts, he needs to make a game, we cannot afford to buy a program or anything but need to just be able to use something for a few days.  Your program was suggested to us and we downloaded it and are trying to use it--

But

when we hit new project it says to add/copy folder or something like that--when we click ok we get

"{failed to copy folder"

help please

The solution to your problem is to use the browse button to save the new project into the "my documents" folder - the default folder used by the old RMXP has become a restricted folder in newer Windows versions.

I suggest looking at RPG Maker VX Ace Lite under "Free Programs" at the download link top right.


The Lite-Version is NOT time-limited, it is limited by the number of maps and objects that can be used in the game, and Ace is the newest RM.


If those limits are no problem for you (and you can do a lot even with Lite), then that would be a better choice than a time-limited XP.


The only advantage RMXP has over Ace & Ace Lite is the mapping, and with a 30-day-trial you can't learn enough about mapping to really use that advantage.


But the advantage of Ace is a much better database with a lot of easier customisation, that would help in your case.
