Hi there. I am new to this system and so far it looks great except the battle mode is in first person like in Phantasy Star. Nothing wrong with that except I am use to the Final Fantasy style of fighting, plus id like to see spells effects from enemies used on the players. There are so many cool looking animations that would look better coming from enemies than the players. Can anyone direct me to a good program that would have side view battles where you can see the effects of abilites the enemies use? Keep in mind it would have to pretty simple as Im new to RPG maker. I know there are many of these scripts out there but I'm sure some are more user friendly than others. Thank you.
Edit: Anyone know if people are making new enemy battlers/sprites?

Sideview battlers seem to be a frequent request in the forums that I've noticed. I think there are quite a few out there to be had from different artists, you'll just have to look at 'em and read carefully. Some of the stuff has limits attached to it (like not for use in commercial games, or rules for commercial release, or payment rules to use it at all). Likewise, there are scripts out there you can use to turn it into a side-view battle system. The program is actually very versatile if you invest the time into it.
As for directing you to a different program? I'm not sure I know of a better one that isn't going to cost you in the ballpark neighborhood of $100 or more. I guess you could try finding one on Steam? I dunno. -

What you want is probably a sideview battle script for use with the RPG Maker.
There are several available on the master script list, the one with the most options graphically is Battle Engine Symphony.
Just look for it on the MSL, if you don't know where the master script list is, either search for it on the forum or follow the link in my signature.
