Just bought Ace

So I've been using the trial version of VX Ace and it expired a few days ago. I bought the program the day after it expired and tried to activate it but the Activate button won't do anything. I can click "Buy Now" and "Cancel" and those work fine but Activate does nothing. It doesn't even try and load anything. Is there something I'm missing? I downloaded the whole package after buying it and installed the VX Ace and RTP so I don't know what's wrong.

which windows do you have? in new versions, you need to set compatibility mode and sometimes even admin access.


What firewall do you have? sometimes the firewall has blocked the editor from internet acces, but it needs internet omce to contact the activation server. In this case, you have to give the program access in your firewall (even if it's only the windows integrated firewall.


And sometimes the server or the specific conntection to the internet is simply overloaded - in that case, the solution is to try it again a few hours later or the next day.

On the other forum, a bunch of people said they were having problems, so it sounds like maybe the server is/was down.

For what version of Windows I have, I use Windows Vista, For the firewall, it's a family computer so I don't really know what kind of settings we have for that or how to access them since I've never really had to, but I do know we aren't using Windows Firewall. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the firewall though as I have installed quite a few other programs that required activation codes and internet access and they all activated perfectly.

UPDATE: My friend also has VX Ace on his computer and he was using the trial version as well. I decided to test it out on his computer and try to activate it there. It worked perfectly fine, first try, no problems. But on my computer, I still won't even get an error message or anything when I click "Activate," even if there is nothing typed in. I get the feeling it's something with my version of the game.

SO  you activated on your friend's pc? What did you after you tested it? Is it still on there?

I hope you removed it from your friend's PC afterwards, or that he paid for the full version?
