Hi all
I've been messing about this weekend with my first proper project. I've made the introduction and used a ton of events and switches on it but I'm hitting a wall of sorts. While it's not a problem it is a blip in my workflow. I'm used to using the Unreal Engine so I can drag and drop a player start or play from here when I need to. This isn't an option I know of yet in RMVX. I'm done with my intro and it now spans three maps before the user is given control of our fateful little pixelated hero without a name. All good and well except that every time I want to test something I have to go through my ten minute set up. Is there a common method people use to jump into later maps in their games that will save me a lot of time and effort or a quick tip way to skip it all and go straight to where I want to be?
Thank you in advance any advice is much appreciated.

i use set player start when you Right Click for event edit.

I've done that a few times but it causes the event on map three which is the one the user gets control of the hero on not to start the event. It needs that event too to set up some of the characters for the story.

If your event has multiple pages and requires some condtition to be met before you get to map 3, then I would turn it off for the playtest, but remember to turn it back on when you are done testing. -
That was a great idea I've now managed to get far enough in and fixed a lot of the bugs in the intro so I have a save now that I can jump into. Thanks very much.

Just wondering if your using VX or VX Ace. You're posting in VX support but your profile shows VX Ace. Just wondering, that's all.
Re: autorun events, another thing you can do is to create a blank map and place them there while you are playtesting, and place them back when you're done.
You might want to label those events so that they don't get mixed up. -
Gah, so sorry about that. Could an admin move this please? Thank you.
I'll give the autorun event a try then because I'm coming upto another rather large part that'll teach the user how to fish, cook and use the shop so it will come in handy there. Thanks Susan. -
