While I don't if someone picked up/remade his series, but there are some plugins that have the same functionality.

Yanfly recently made a 'triforce of plugins' which have the same functionality as the 'Est Clone-transform-delete' plugin.

Yanfly also has a plugin akin to EST's save map events, but I'm not sure what it was called.

Then you can also use the grid-free doodads plugin (also from yanfly) to make maps (however it does not allow the player to set tiles/build stuff.)

Yanfly's plugins are great, but these doesn't allow the player to set tiles/build stuff.
I need EST Build and Decor plugin for me.
