installation problem

    I went through the setup wizard process and everything works until the end when the RPG VX RTP is to be installed, when it shows this:

               Unable to execute file:

               C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Temp\is-174BE.tmp\Setup.exe

               CreateProcess failed; code 740

               The requested operation requires elevation

    Any help would be very appreciated, I know i'm not the only one to have this problem either, as there was another post which is now sealed because it was resolved about the same issue. Unfortunately, the one who made the post solved the problem on his own and didn't really elaborate on how he did. He simply said " HOLD UP! Got it working now! Had to manually get into the appdata and set it up. Thanks for your help."

    Try running the installer as adminstrator.

    this sounds as either a windows problem (access rights, perhaps try to install as admin by right-clicking the setup), or as a damaged download file.


    If this is only about the RTP, then you can download a different setup for the RTP from the download links top right on this site.


    Otherwise, redownload the entire installer and try to run it again.

    I ran it as administrator and it went through just fine. Thank you both very much for your assistance. I'm fairly stubborn so I've been tinkering with the problem for several hours on my own already, so it's a relief to have that finished.
