    Inner Sanctum is my submission to Studio Blue's RPG Maker MZ game jam. It is a Christian-themed horror/mystery game.

    The game had the honor of being ranked 3rd place on the game jam! And I'm truly honored and happy for that. ^_^

    The story revolves around a young girl named "Meadow" who experienced tragedy when she woke up in a crime scene with her dead parents beside her. A group of religious individuals from the Divine Grace Monastery have offered to adopt the poor girl. After being welcomed with loving arms, things took a darker and twisted turn when the moon took over the night sky.

    This is a great horror game, in particular I like the different branching paths based on which characters are alive and which aren't.

    The story does have some weird moments though. For example, one of the early possible death scenes is strangely out of place and one twist hinges one someone obtaining evidence in a very improbable way. The antagonist eventually ends up being more laughable then scary with all of the ridiculously over-the-top profanity coming out of their mouth. I know that this is sort of the in the style of old horror movies like the Exorcist, but still, I think it would've been better if it were toned down somewhat.

    The parts where you are meant to "fight back" are also strange, basically you are always in an arena that's pitch black with only the area around you being visible and have to find all the random glowing object and interact with them. And this somehow "damages" the enemy chasing you. I don't think this implementation was well thought out and it doesn't make much sense in the context of this game.

    The one thing I can't fault whatsoever is the visual style. While the vast majority of the game is RTP assets, the way you put them together, edited them and the maps really makes this game stand out and overall, this game is proof that RTP games can look great!
