Importing a tileset the right way?

  1. Hi there,

i'm having a little issue. I want the tileset (seen in the screenshot) to work as an event, but only the part on the bottom. Basically what I want is the waterfall to be an event with stepping animations.

How can I do this? Since the Maker cannot capture the waterfall as one character I'm pretty desperate here. I tried to import the tileset with a "$" or "!" in front of it, but it didn't work of course.

    Can someone help me?

  2. where did you get those tiles? They are not formatted for Ace, so you'll have to rework them in GIMP or Photoshop or a similiar program, before they can be used.

The $ and ! are keys for the names of spritesheets, they have absolutely no function for tilesets.
  3. The weidth of the internet gave me this. ._.

What do I have to do with them in photoshop?

If you have to ask this, then it could become a problem...
You'll have to reduce size to 32x32 pixel (non-animated tile) or to three times 32x32 (animated for sprite).

If you want to use it as a tile, you then have to replace a tile of the existing tilesets with it

If you want to use it as a spritesheet, you have to place it four times above each other and the three animated versions to the right and left to create a 3x4 pictures single sprite for use as event grafic.
  5. Okay, thanks, man. :)
  6. That's an edit of XP's RTP, you need to own XP to use it.  You'd probably want the one that actually comes with XP anyway, this edit is horrible.
