Images keep showing under characters?

the overlay image was working the whole game till the last bit where I added some in game switches, I can't seem to fix it. any Ideas how to fix it?

that sounds as if you accidentally used switches that were configured for whatever overlay script you're using, forcing it into the wrong configuration.

Forgetting to configure a script correctly (by assigning and reserving the switches and variables it needs) is one of the more common errors from new script users, especially if they're using Yami's overlay script (which works with a lot of variables)
