    VX Ace

This is the base RTP from RPG Maker VX Ace. it is done properly. I am tired of people hacking the art and resizing. Here's how it is done properly. This also includes commercially usable icons from Enterbrain and other 3rd party users that have been verified by me. It basically is RPG Maker MV icons on steroids.

If you have anything you want me to add or suggestions I make to the icon set, please post them below. I will add any material that is legit and free to use in commercial games. Provide the source or else I will not add.

    Enterbrain

    Ocean's Dream

    Terra

    Whitecat (Terra edited some)

This is allowed in commercial projects, just ensure proper credit is given to everyone.

Must have a valid license of RPG Maker MV and VX ACE to use.

    7Soul1

This iconset will not cover everything you need. It is for those wanting a different style icon set in their game, you likely will need more icons or to get rid of states/change them.

This resource is a public domain icon sheet that is available to use for commercial games. Credit goes to 7Soul1, which the Deviant Art is in the Source section.

I have a question, and a concern. First of all, I adore Terra. What a super contributor! But she says the violin, wooden flute and disc are by White Cat We didn't have Slimmm at the time, and Whitecat's terms are here:

With no reposting/reposting of edits allowed.

So you may want to consider removing those.

Also huge Iconsets by various artists get really messy. If you have some by different people to credit, it would probably be clearer if you could identify exactly which icons are which, because people generally take an icon here and there and end up crediting the universe for one icon because they can't tell which is which. (Maybe you do this in the individual icon file: I didn't check)

Oh I see. I removed them all. That's the most complicated terms of use I have ever seen. Not being able to distribute edits is unheard of, if you have commercial use. It really is not a positive for Whitecat to do this, since you get link backs to your blog, but it is not my right to say what the author does with their work.
  3. It's not unusual at all.  I have that restriction on my stuff, and I know Avery does too.  Be more careful about that in the future, you must have permission or be the sole creator of any resources you post.

I am talking about edits. Not copy/pasting the work of others into a giant iconset or something. I should of probably not allowed people to request icons to add, it was just to get the community involved in creating better iconset. The ones RPG Maker has are pretty bad. When you limit people to share edits of your work, you essentially harm the community aspect. If we weren't allowed to share RPG Maker resources, this community would be dead except plugins for the most part. That''s what I mean. Edits are different and are not really the same as the original works.

If you made icons for money, you get more people seeing your stuff they buy it. If you make icons for fun, more people use it. There's no reason to limit use of edits in your work or sharing them. There's no real advantage to doing that other than feeling paranoid or something. If your work is private use, don't post it on the Internet. :p
  5. You should start a discussion about that in another thread so I can respond without derailing this one.
  6. Fixed broken link since my blog is no longer alive.
